@MisterOrimoloye@This_is_Godson@cheebabe_ If he had used $65k or any other arbitrary number, someone else may still have a problem with it. Even if it’s 0% interest rate, financing that much as someone with a low salary base doesn’t really make much sense
👑 Lionel Messi becomes second top goalscorer EVER in World Cup history!
15 WC goals, same as Ronaldo Nazario.
One missing to make history as Miro Klose’s record is set at 16 World Cup goals. 💥
I’ve spent the past couple of weeks building Looters: a public archive of Nigerian political corruption since the 1990s.
Governors, ministers, shell companies, Swiss accounts, the Jersey trusts, — one searchable graph.
You too can connect the dots: https://t.co/faIfzWfAIp
A public officer has come out severally to say that he's not a thief.
And up till today, not one security agency has been able to refute that claim.
Peter Obi says he did not steal public funds, instead of those in power to use the instruments of power to prove him wrong, they resort to character assassination, bribery and weaponization of poverty.
If he's a thief, prove it and sue him to court and let him be jailed for being a theif.
You young Nigerians, you'll never see a man like Peter Obi in a very long time.
If he wasn't a threat to the corrupt establishment, they would not even bother discussing him on national TV, their platforms or through paid & hungry agitators.
He's rare and he's unique.
Attacking him makes him stronger.
If your conscience is clear and you want the best for Nigerians and Nigeria, you'll see this.
It's not rocket science.
You hate Peter Obi because he's not your regular politician.
And he doesn't want to buy your votes with money, bags of rice or beans.
Deal with it.
I am a Nigerian.
And I stand with a man that wants to make sure that things are done the right way.
Go and vote for Peter Obi and Kwankwaso for president and vice president.
And satisfy your good conscience.
End.
Do startups early. And try your utmost best to be great at it. One of the worst disservices you can do to yourself is to be a shitty founder.
Try your best to build an equitable organization, take your investor relationships extremely seriously, report the bad just as clearly as you report the good. Don’t be a whiner and let it be clear how much effort you are putting into building a great company.
The learnings you take from all of this stay with you for life. In the past 5 years I’ve learnt so much about dealing with uncertainty and managing anxiety. As such, I’m confident about my adaptability in the face of global innovation.
One way or another, we’ll be alright.
At some point, usually in your 20s, you'll notice that the people around you stop believing in themselves. And no matter how hard you try, you can't save them. By all means, do not let it infect your mind. Stay on your path.
We’re entering an era of complete digital abundance. Every app that can be made will be made. The real differentiators will be quality and personalisation.
When I moved to Canada, I did a one year program that cost me about N20m when converted. I had no plans on doing a second program that would have guaranteed me 3 year of Post Graduate Work Permit.
I was limited to just one year, after which the only option was to come back to Nigeria and continue my life where I stopped.
Even at that, I didn't want to just "waste" my Work Permit doing menial jobs, I wanted to do a job in my Marketing and Communications field. I had all the experience from Nigeria in my fields, but I was met with the reality of Canadian Work experience demands at every job I had applied for.
I started applying for jobs and doing interviews from my second semester, so I put in the work. Though I wasn't getting and job, I was getting familiarized with Interview routines and also sharpening my oratory skills to be more audible.
Of course, I was always praying daily for a job. Some rejections were because I was still on a study permit, so I couldn't do full time. Others were because; though I aced interviews, some to the second stage, I fell short when it was time to choose a candidate, because I had no Canadian experience, and others did.
Fast forward to when it was about 2 weeks to the end of my Study permit, my prayer changed. The mode of it, the specificity of it and all.
I put a time line to the prayer. My study permit was to expire on the 31st of March, 2023. So I told God, I want a full time job in my field before the 31st of March, 2023.
A job I had done two interviews, the last one being in February, 2023; reached out to me on the 30th of March, a day to the end of my Study Permit, telling me I had been employed.
For the first time in a very long time, I believed again, and I held on to that miracle, using it as a reminder for God at every step of the way I went, till I got my PR.
Canada peacefully coexisted with the US for a long time. We had a normal trading relationship—they bought our stuff, we bought their oil at a great discount. It functioned as an unofficial 51st state with its own culture, quirkiness, a touch of socialism, and infinite politeness. Things were great.
Then Trump decided to make America great again and started treating allies and adversaries alike. For reasons that still escape any thinking person, he went nuclear on Canada. Canada's dependence and friendly coexistence with the US suddenly proved to be a liability.
So it decided to diversify away from its former friend and started seeing other people. The US is now behaving like an abusive ex-boyfriend who beat his girlfriend; the girlfriend started seeing other people, and now he's threatening her with further beatings if she doesn't stop.
We are - through the hands of our president - becoming pathetic.
I have been saying it for over a decade that we don’t have bankers in Nigeria but only bank workers. Barclays profiled me for a business account once and the questions they asked showed that they wanted to understand what I do and support me with loans. That is how they make money, by supporting the economy.
Nigerian banks on the other hand, run an extractive racket at the bottom and do (largely insider) deals at the top with large corporations and government. It is not banking but a hostage situation that finances economic arbitrage.
People grow through this system and are surprised when they can’t get similar jobs abroad. A friend determined to continue working in banking in Canada had to go back to the bottom to restart after being a senior manager in Nigeria.
I hardly see anyone who didn’t work in International banks like Citi in Nigeria go abroad to the UK and still work in banking. The systems are very different.
Major life cheat code: Learn to work without validation. Write when nobody’s reading. Build when nobody’s watching. Train when nobody’s cheering. It doesn’t take talent. It just takes courage. Those with the courage to work in the dark will eventually shine in the light.
Every skill rests on fundamentals; the micro foundations that form the substrate upon which everything else is built. When you grasp this, you begin to see design tools for what they truly are: mere means of expression. You understand their limits, and paradoxically, the better you know the tools, the more creatively you can bend or work around those limits.
The best designers are not defined by allegiance to a single tool. They move fluidly between Figma, Photoshop, Canva, or even pen and paper, not for novelty’s sake, but to achieve a single purpose or complete a vision.
The common mistake is to conflate tool competence with pure creativity. They are not the same. Being insanely skilled with Figma’s auto-layout does not automatically make you an exceptional designer. Some designers master every shortcut yet produce work that feels lifeless, while others, with nothing but grouped frames, craft designs that command attention.
True creativity transcends tools. When you deeply understand design itself, you can create posters in Canva that others would swear were impossible in Canva. Tool mastery and pure creativity can coexist and ideally should, but the tool will always remain a medium, and mediums inevitably change.
