Here's Chris Hinkins using his excellent minimal, compact, battery-powered setup that lets him play piano and 2-manual organ in a church with no electricity! Organ sounds via the 'Pipe Organ' iPad app, and 30% of every sale goes to @friendschurches

Having seen a *great* performance of this piece on Twitter today, I thought I would run a historic MIDI performance of it through Church Organ for Mac. 'Herr Jesu Christ dich zu uns wend' (BWV 655), performer unknown, via https://t.co/IXYY9UphDA

Dig deep folks - Rachel is virtually single-handedly keeping giant, beautiful, meaningful chunks of our architectural and spiritual heritage alive. Awesome job, but big repairs cost money - please help if you can.
... with peaks hand-tuned to human vocal formants i.e. tweaked and pulled around until the low C sounded like a bass singing 'OOOH'. It's pretty compelling.
My personal theory that ANYTHING turned into a wavetable sounds like an organ pipe is turning out to be pretty solid. The synthetic Vox Humana sounds really, really human in certain registers. Synthesized in Logic, ES1 pulse wave, cutoff to tame the sizzle, into a channel EQ ...
Quick experiment - the Cornopean has been temporarily swapped out for the new Vox Humana - as the first chord on Vox Humana hits you, the sense of ‘human vocal tract’ is uncanny. It’s not singing, but it is a pretty sweet sound for half an hour’s playing with Channel EQ in Logic.
There are unlikely to be any more stops added in the near future ... but having said that I can't stop thinking about a really good quality Vox Humana to do choir reinforcement!
One more feature - build 32 has a new ‘share piston banks’ button, which makes it much easier to keep your piston presets synchronised between devices and computers.
This round of builds is complete, once feedback is collected and any issues resolved this will go on the store.
The 16' Trombone in the Pedal division is now integrated and tested in Pipe Organ (iOS) and Church Organ (Mac), but App Store Connect is closed for Christmas, so even Testflight users can't get to it for a few days. Think of it as a late stocking filler 😀
Today I dropped a reed into the pedal of Church Organ and Pipe Organ. It's a 16' Trombone, and it sounds *really* sweet - maybe not sweet, but ROBUST - but I need to ensure I can fit it in without affecting either the UI or the registrations of the existing repertoire / hymnal.
