@mkainerugaba I remember witnessing the night shootouts while studying in Teso college, with heavy military deployment and serious artillery around the school. Waking up to tragic news from nearby villages. We could be called back from preps to take cover in the dorms. Asante sana to you 🫡
I think @BalaamBarugahar should take a tour around Mukono municipality, especially the Goma division. Men! that division doesn't work on roads 😔. We only need grading, esp the Misindye Kiwanga Bweyos route, Sonde Area, and they've tried on Bukerere... Akafuufu ko twakamanyira✌🏾
Yesterday, I read Afande @AKasingye’s story about failing to pay for fuel because the payment systems were down. The attendants simply told him to go and pay later because they knew him. He ended the story with an old saying from western Uganda: “Kyokujwaragye, okoreragye abantu.”
Loosely translated, it means, “Instead of putting all your effort into looking smart, do good to people.”
That proverb stayed with me.
Later, I had a conversation with a friend, @Ronald_Ngobi_ who running one of the most growing consulting company. He remarked that many young professionals today present themselves exceptionally well. They dress well, speak confidently, and know how to build an impressive image. Yet he has also experienced costly disappointments because the work ethic, discipline, reliability, and sense of responsibility didn’t always match the presentation.
It made me think.
Why is this younger generation is investing heavily in personal branding, but perhaps not enough in personal CHARACTER.
A good appearance may get you noticed. A polished CV may get you hired. A strong online profile may earn you followers.
But it is your character that makes someone trust you when the system fails. It is your reputation that makes people say, “Go ahead, we’ll sort it out later.”
Long after people forget what you wore, they will remember how you worked, how you treated them, and whether your word could be trusted.
Maybe our ELDERS were RIGHT, yes in these times, They’re.
Kyokujwaragye, okoreragye abantu.
@GODFREY_Kutesa I keep telling wifey to serve kids first because I never want to see them miserably looking at my food, or I never start eating until they've been served.
@RailwaysUganda Please do, it's a good hub for meat distribution in the East and North.
Has the Arapai Station been renovated. What's the plan for the quarters.
@jjraymondsnr@KakandeAlex Better still, consolidate the funds with your friends and open an investment account. Keep pushing the funds to the Trust account and same time use the account as security for obtaining assets through the Bank.
@stanbicug come expound on this.
