As part of World AIDS Day 2023 in London, we welcomed @Winnie_Byanyima the Executive Director of @UNAIDS to the Unheard Voices Project delivered by @NAT_AIDS_Trust & @OneVoiceNetwor2
The panellist include @ondeni from @africadvocacy, Kemi from NAT, and @ProfKevinFenton, Public Health Director for London.
We had a great opportunity to share with Winnie the challenges and expectations of UK organisations leading on HIV in the Black Community, she was a good listener and also had the chance to see @HouseOfRainbow banner alongside other communities in the Market place. She loved the phrase #GodAdoresYou
📢 We stand in strong opposition to the French Senate's decision to abolish state medical aid for undocumented people.
We call on the @AssembleeNat to reconsider this decision as it would deny essential healthcare to vulnerable individuals. Protect access to healthcare for all❗️
🌍🩺 According to @OneNomadicCat, the climate crisis worsens health impacts, especially for marginalised groups. They face double risks with existing health issues. European elections should prioritise health through effective climate legislation🗳️🌱 #EHFG2023
This #SHW23 we want to highlight the benefits of testing! The emergency department opt-out testing initiative has linked over 200 ppl w/ new #HIV diagnoses to life saving treatment, who otherwise may have gone unnoticed for longer. @ProfKevinFenton@UKHSA@londoncouncils
@natasha_azzmus@WHO_Europe@ondeni, EPHA Board member and Programmes Director @africadvocacy, reflects if CSOs are doing enough to recognise some of the constraints institutions have – either to work within these constraints or even campaign to change them from the outside
On to our second session of the day where we bring together voices from the @WHO, Commission, civil society and lived experience, for a multilevel discussion on involvement in policy making – moderated by @MarinettiC, EPHA Treasurer.
#EPHA30#EmpowerHealth#NothingWithoutUs
