We may lack #albatross in European waters, we sadly don’t lack the threat of bycatch. But these “Looming-Eyes Buoy” (LEB) created by our RSPB colleagues, could change that with a 20-30% abundance of long-tailed duck within 50m of the LEB! More info here 👉 https://t.co/f4aEtekTRf
A #wanderingalbatross breeding cycle takes over 12 months! A lot can happen in that time so the @BAS_News team do a monthly census. There are now 553 chicks are sitting comfortably in their nests. This is only three less than last month which is a great result for the colony 🙌

Pangolins eat ants, termites and larvae and are often known as "the scaly anteater." 🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜 Voraciously digging ants and termites from mounds, stumps, and fallen logs with their claws, they use their extremely long sticky tongues to capture and eat them.

We often say that black-browed albatrosses are the fiercest of the #albatross world. But it’s hard to demonstrate that with such loving images of parents, going to the edges of the 🌎 to raise their chick. Well here’s Orion, our black-browed chick. Think they’re fierce now?
The health of Scotland’s fish populations face three major issues: overfishing, hindered recovery through widespread bycatch, and the continued degradation of seabed habitats. What opportunities do we have to tackle this post-Brexit? Read our blog here: https://t.co/tOZtLWpIQL

Making a garden or community green space more wild can be as simple as letting the grass grow. Having areas of short grass is good, as it attracts some bird species - but let some areas grow long to encourage wildflowers & insects.
