I often see comments like "they dont make good games now. cuz devs nowadays dont even like games."
the conclusion is somewhat true
but the strange part is the logic.
contrapositive of this statement is 'if devs like gaming, they make good games' and it's not so true
there are so many cases where passion doesnt result in competence. there are millions of people who spent thousands of hours in a single game but still suck at the game. tons of people sacrifice career and stability of life to pursue art, but fail to have a successful career
@Blundarian@NeonBirdGames it saved Bethesda 23 years ago. 23 freakin years.
it was a brilliant game, a masterpiece, but if you release a similar game now then it cannot succeed as a AAA game. there are tons of good indie games with similar taste and style, thats where u shoud have expectation
@Blundarian@NeonBirdGames besides, Morrowind is 23 yrs old. think of a game released in 1980. like... freakin pac-man. imagine that Morrowind just got released, and some old guy is complaining how shitty games have become compared to pac-man and Atari missile command
@Blundarian@NeonBirdGames u may say 'they are all dumb, they are not rpg gamers'
but whatever u say, they are still ES fans who contributed to the franchise with money and passion
it's ur freedom to call something shit, but that wont stop Bethesda from creating another "shit" to satisfy majority of fans
@kingterrortank@FilmsFallout I agree with how shitty the bullet spongeness is, but using a double barrel shotgun for a gunner lieutenant is kinda weird
map of NCR makes me wonder 'mojave is right next to Hub and Shady Sands but why do they complain about "stretched thin" so much?' I mean, it's depicted as if it's some Vietnam war but it's so close to their core region
@ranger_houston@TheVaultTecInc most NV fans that show up in Youtube or twitter like random encounters, prefer yelling "you like 4? you are a stupid kid" "go play BF" "3 and 4 are trash" "Bethesda is shit"
@KyronKiranov@GapingApe154@Der_Kernel_ being able to choose a vampire clan alone doesnt make the game fun. the choice should be able to give a variety of deep experience and narrative to the player
@KyronKiranov@GapingApe154@Der_Kernel_ so you seriously insist that the key variable for a game's success is the previous title?
also Daggerfall was a decent, ambitious game but not on par with other masterpieces at the time. not enough to make Morrowind such a success
