For 40 years Scotland’s oldest law centre,@castlemilklaw, has provided advice/representation to vulnerable people across south-east Glasgow. Last yr we saw over 2000 clients we were successful in 80% of benefit appeals. @glasgowcc proposals will mean the end of these services.
We stand in solidarity with our fellow advice agencies, CABs and law centres. Council’s proposal will mean eight will close and eight will face drastic funding cuts. Half of Glasgow’s people will no longer have access to advice. Please lobby your councillor/MSP. STOP THE CUTS!
Just checked our stats and since lockdown in March we’ve assisted 650 new clients, and dealt
with just under 5000 issues /problems for them! We don’t just signpost. Apparently someone’s saying we’ve been invisible during COVID, I don’t think so!
Support coming in from trade unions, community groups and campaign groups. Join this action on Saturday. Glasgow stands opposed to fascism on our streets.
I didn’t write this, but if you’re not a person of colour and still struggling to understand your own privilege then please have a read ..
