and as someone that will never tell my story out of shame and other weird emotional reasons it’s in a way nice to see people talk about this and see people be unafraid to say something happened to them too.
I feel this. part of ptsd is scanning for threats and being on guard, seeing all these things online and liking everything makes us feel like we are “helping” but sometimes the best thing is putting the phone down, doing a grounding exercise, and focus your attention elsewhere
@theonlyjordan__ it’s soooooooooo uncomfortable and the more she obsesses about it, the more distressed she becomes but she keeps saying she wants to be informed and supportive of other victims
@kasemaaaan@Sonderisfon the need to want to be taken care of often comes from never feeling protected as a child or neglected. I went through that during my childhood-teen years but then I figured out no one is gonna save me! sometimes it takes hitting rock bottom for you to wake up.

A pack of unhireable, dangerous-to-women manchildren and an essay doesn't cut it, @Cornell
When I hear "fraternity," I automatically think of rape...and I'm not the only one. Even well before what happened at Cornell University, fraternities have been infamous for mass rapes. Why is so much "male bonding" rooted in predation and misogyny?
Permanent ruin IS real justice
She was raped FOR SEVEN HOURS. She'll be lucky to be able to pee normally let alone get pregnant or have any kind of sex in a healthy way, + the psychological damage she will have for the rest of her life.
They deserve to be just as destroyed
The seven rapists from Cornell University should have their lives so thoroughly and permanently ruined that they never know peace, redemption, or any sort of satisfaction. The rape is irredeemable, so is the group chat, so is Cornell for giving them "essays" as faux punishment
The last 24 hours of news as a woman:
- A man jacks off to the woman next to him on a plane. United makes her return to her seat.
- 7 frat boys drug and gang rape a student for hours, and advertise “free p*ssy” to their frat. Cornell makes them write essays.
- A football player rapes a student. LSU reduces his suspension.
- A teen boy stalks and stabs a girl 10 times. Courts grant only a restraining order.
- Brendan Carr spent 9 years in a cult raping teen girls. Trump made him FCC Chair.
yes the Cornell rape incident is horrible, but a more overlooked sinister detail is that they advertised it in a group chat and NONE of the guys reported it or stopped them. Men enable men.
The Cornell University r@pist. These men drugged a young woman and took turns r@ping her. In a group chat, they took a picture of her and invited others to rape her. Only two of them were expelled the others had to write an essay. You should be outraged by the outcome. This young woman will forever be changed by what happened to her and these young men get a slap on the hand.
@kasemaaaan@Serastalons part of why it was so difficult for me to get better was a lack of skills due to neglect but you can learn all that in therapy, I also learned a lot of skills in a group therapy program, it was kinda intense, 5x a week, but it did me wonders.
@kasemaaaan@Serastalons Yeah I agree with that. When you are wallowing it truly feels like it’s never going to end and you can’t find a way out. It’s challenging at first but once you start taking the steps to get better it gets easier. there is no cure, but there is remission w/ management.
@kasemaaaan@Serastalons I’ve fighting mental illness for like 10+ years now and what I’ve learned is it’s never going to “go away” it’s going to fluctuate, you just learn to handle it better.
@kasemaaaan@Serastalons well yes and no. ur right about it being habits that you need to build, its all up to yourself to fix yourself. but that doesn’t mean it is easy, that depends on the person. For me it took years of therapy and im still working on it
@lectovers yup. I get what they mean, I’d like to think I’d do that, but when you are in that situation you may either go into fight/flight/freeze, then you get judged on what you should have or should not have done while already judging yourself the harshest for how you handled it.
