@steubens7 @SnazzyLabs Yeah, after watching GN video on it they told them that with the foveated atreaming they were targeting a bandwidth of 250Mbps (and my understanding is the dongle is just a 6GHz WiFi 7 AP so it's not doing anything special to require more on input), so easily handled via USB 3.0.

@steubens7 @SnazzyLabs It will have all of it and be helpfully labeled anything from USB 3.0, through 3.1 Gen 1 to 3.2 Gen 1.

A TON of USB 3 USB A ports are still 5Gbps.

I have seen 5Gbps USB C (mostly on some hubs, not a PC/laptop I think), but it's not nearly as common.

The first assessment is due by 28 December 2025 btw, so if folding phone makers have a need for a smaller port, now is actually good time to talk about it.

@cerv3ra @alexcritical_ @ChadNotChud The Commission is required to submit an assessment to the European Parliament every 5 years and the references to specific standards are actually part of a commission delegated regulation, so they'll get to skip most of the legislative process for updates when they're needed.

@luciascarlet They seem to only be sandboxed in ways that don't matter.

Maybe a malicious extension can just run an arbitrary process or read/write any file vscode has access to, but at least it can't just easily show more complex local websites in the webview, because that would be insecure!
