okay so this is now up - a speed #pico8 game where you are a time-travelling UFO collecting New Year's Eve firework debris for... reasons

@MichaelEllio77 I'm not going to seriously reply to someone whose immediate response is to try to condescend with some weak sarcasm. This is a twitter-poisoned account.
@Owen_Stephens@Joseph_Browning There is certainly a chilling effect. It would also take a court case to be raised by Hasbro though - which as far as I'm aware they have never done on the basis of the OGL.
@Joseph_Browning@Owen_Stephens I've seen a lot of analysis of the "de-authorisation" aspect by actual legally qualified folk just in the hours since this was released, and the general conclusion seems to be that it would completely not get anywhere in court.

I'm on Mastodon. I don't post a lot there but I post a lot more than I do here.
Will this website get dramatically worse in the next few days? Yes
But will this website see an increase in weird nerds defending billionaires? Also yes
jfc I come back on Twitter for five minutes and I end up getting into a pointless argument
this is why I hate this thing
I told my therapist I was way past online arguments, too
I mean sure, riddles and puzzles are not set out in the DMG. Along with many other things. Yes they are based around player ability not character skill, but so is... combat, a complete metagaming process in 5e.
I think riddles and puzzle suck in games btw, groaningly tiresome.
@POCGamer It is not. You can shell out for the PHB and have no real idea of how an actual game work. Which was my point about puzzles and riddles, that the lack of rules covering them is just one of many cases. (I still think they suck, but because they are dumb and arbitrary.)
@POCGamer Digging out my PHB, there's chapter 8 which has general stuff about resting? I can't see where it says "you should expect 4-6 combat encounters per day with occasional weird 1h rests and budget your consumables and sr/lr powers accordingly".
