How far can $5/day on ads take you?
The appeal to generate great results from small budgets has always piqued my curiosity. So I tried it on an "average" campaign on Meta and Google.
And here's what I learned... 🧵
@pixelsavvant To learn—what’s there to learn when you can get what you want with a push of a button?
While tools can make it easier to reach desired outcomes, they also do a good job of abstracting the fundamentals away.
@neurosp1ke I think a lot of people miss the point of these interviews.
It was never by design to know everything, because that’s not how it works on the job.
The intention is to understand whether you can solve problems together with the interviewer and do a spectacular job at it.
@gera_wsl@stats_feed Not the way it’s currently done, because that’s an amount the employer should have covered in the first place.
We want to commend people for going above and beyond their work. Not pay them extra for meeting the basic expectations.
@whatifalthist I agree in part, but it pays for leaders to still have irrationality and rashness in their toolbox.
Especially if it confounds the enemy.
@ashleyruba_phd At the end of the day, it’s just a matter of ticking either one of these two boxes:
☑️ Do you want to teach at a university?
☑️ Do you pursue research as a profession?
If it’s neither, you’re probably better off doing something else.
I find it interesting how a takeaway from today’s Intro to Quant seminar spoke to me as if it were a message from God.
“You can only play the hand you were dealt.”
(Note to the reader)
So accept it, be grateful, and play it well.
