"never got the invoice" is usually DNS. M365 doesn't DKIM-sign your domain until you set it up, SPF permerrors past 10 lookups, third-party tools pass for their domain not yours. how we'd fix + monitor: https://t.co/5FwuP1IWOy
@dhh nice. reading the project is the easy part, the bit i'd want is a clear log when claude actually moves a todo or posts in a thread. small teams need to see who did what, human or bot
@amasad for smaller businesses the habitat can be pretty simple. agent reads whatever it needs, writes only to drafts or a queue, and a person approves anything that leaves the building. gets you most of the safety without a platform team
@GergelyOrosz seeing the same in small businesses. one person in the office has quietly automated half their week, everyone else is waiting to be shown how. fix is boring, write down what that person did so it's not stuck in their head
@levelsio login with x should need your profile and email, that's it. post, follow and settings access just to sign in is wild. worth clearing out connected apps every few months, half of them are things you tried once
@levelsio how soon is the whole question. plenty of businesses still have a server in the back room from 2016. end state might be no saas but the middle is gonna be a lot of glue
@GoldmanSachs 86% using ai but how many have it actually hooked into their books or job system? most i see are pasting stuff into chatgpt. the gap's integration not adoption
@ramkris@HyphenateAI finance is the right place for agents imo, everything gets checked against the bank anyway so mistakes show up fast. the hard bit is when the data's split across 4 tools that don't share an id
@sophiebakalar from what i see with shops and trades the first win usually isn't a chatbot, it's killing the double entry. orders typed into one system then again into xero. sort that and the owner actually notices
@GergelyOrosz agree. the interface is the easy part tho. a bot in slack is only useful if it can actually see the crm and the accounts, and that plumbing is where most of these rollouts stall
@jasonfried this is the bit small businesses will feel most. not a new app, just the one they've used for years suddenly talking to their ai. if xero and the job system get the same treatment a lot of copy paste just goes away
@emollick for business workflows i'd almost rather have a boring audit log than the trace. show me every record it changed and let me undo one. way easier to weigh in on than a wall of reasoning
@gregisenberg kinda agree but the agent's only as good as the data under it. loads of small businesses have the crm and the accounts disagreeing on who the customer even is. fix that first or the agent just does the wrong thing faster
@stripe free b2b transfers is nice. what i'd really want is the invoice number riding along with it. half the pain in small biz books is a payment landing with no reference and someone guessing which bill it was for
@JackEllis the clone never includes the bit businesses actually pay for: it working with their other stuff. the app's easy, keeping it in sync with xero and stripe for 3 years is the job
@kylecnorton@LassieAI congrats. main street ai lives or dies on integrations imo. if the booking system, payments and accounts don't share a customer id, the ai just adds another place the data disagrees
@noahrshinn@stripe@link@instinct budget + per purchase cap is the right design. same thing works in business ops, let the agent act inside a cap and log everything. the part people skip is reconciling what it spent back to the books
@link cool for consumers. the business version needs the boring bit sorted first: every agent purchase landing in the books with a receipt and the right account code, or the bookkeeper's gonna hate whoever turned it on
@emollick for small business ops i'd add one step before ambitious: make sure the data's right. ai on top of books where payouts never got matched to invoices just gives you a confident wrong answer faster
@gregisenberg doing this with small businesses here in australia. the ai is rarely the hard bit, it's the plumbing. a lot of the work ends up being getting the job system and xero to agree on what got paid, then the ai stuff actually works
