The Jewish Community Relations Council addresses critical issues on behalf of the Jewish community through government, media, education and interfaith dialogue
Loading up the buses and preparing for our caravan to Fort Sill OK. The plans to open this facility is on hold, but our message is still as relevant as ever: stop separating families, treat people humanely, and ensure a path for people to find a better life in our country.
Tonight, the U.S. House of Representatives overwhelmingly passed a #bipartisan resolution with 350 cosponsors, reaffirming what we have long known about the #antisemitic Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (#BDS) movement against #Israel. Here’s what it said: (thread) #YesOn246

Today the House passed a resolution I cosponsored that opposes the global #BDS movement because it makes a just peace harder & moves us away from negotiations that could lead to a two-state solution and greater security in the Middle East.
Today we celebrated the inaugural @ELALUSA nonstop flight between Orlando and Tel Aviv at @MCO! This new route will help attract more visitors to the Sunshine State and will provide exciting new tourism opportunities for both Floridians and Israelis.
As an alumnus of Spanish River, I find these comments disgraceful. The Holocaust is not a belief, it’s a historical fact and an evil atrocity against our Jewish siblings and against our humanity. We have ZERO obligation to appease any ignorant person who thinks otherwise.
A nation’s immigration policy is an expression of its humanity. We seek to protect American values and ideals by reforming the draconian measures currently in place, which negate so many of the democratic principles for which we stand.
We continue to denounce the inhumane conditions at immigration detention centers and border holding facilities along the Southern border, which violate federal law and “common decency.” https://t.co/qqyLIIj6pT
All those seeking a better life in America deserve to be treated with compassion & humanity, regardless of protected status, country of origin, eligibility for asylum, or any other metric by which the government classifies immigration cases.
As Jews, we have a moral, ethical, and historical obligation to speak out during times of injustice. In the Torah (Lev. 19:16) we are compelled to act to the fullest extent we are able, in order to save, preserve, or protect human life.
As we pause to celebrate #Juneteenth — the emancipation of the last remaining enslaved people in the United States 154 years ago — we reflect upon and recognize the important roles African Americans have played and continue to play in the agriculture community.
#Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in this country. While it’s a day to celebrate the progress we’ve made in the pursuit of freedom, equality, and justice, it is also a reminder that much more work remains before we can fully live up to those ideals.
