EPRA has added new charges that will increase electricity costs by about Sh4.10 per unit in October. Every single month, EPRA has been increasing the price of electricity over the last 6 months.
This means the same amount of money you used to buy tokens last month will now buy you even fewer electricity units.
In 2022, under President Uhuru KSh 1,000 bought you 60 units. Today under Ruto it buys you just 27 units. After this latest increase, you will get even less. Are Kenyans getting value for their money? Definitely No.
This has been the trend under the Ruto govt on the cost of living where everything keeps getting more expensive while your money buys you less. This has a direct implication on households, manufacturing sector and industries which are forced to spend more on power consumption.
But Kasongo supporters will tell you he has lowered the cost of living. #Wantam #Sifuna
Kwa sisi payslip holders, tunakatwa:

Alafu some mathafakin tutam blogger has audacity to open their mouth.
What happened to me is bigger than one artist or one stage. When the billionaire class can decide which voices are allowed on stage and which ones are too dangerous to hear, everyone should be paying attention.
So we're going on tour. All proceeds will benefit organizations supporting the Palestinian people and movement.

President William Ruto, after four years in power, has made 455 promises, but only 12 of them have been fulfilled.
This means only 2.6% of his promises have been fulfilled
#China says it sent #Kenya goods worth Sh1.3 TRILLION in 2025. @KRACorporate@KRACare recorded imports of only Sh672 billion. That leaves a Sh629 BILLION gap that DOES NOT appear in our books.
Over five years, the gap has grown to Sh2.76 TRILLION.
This cannot be brushed aside as a minor difference in paperwork. Kenyaโs import figures should generally be higher than Chinaโs export figures because imports are recorded on a cost, insurance and freight basis. Yet our recorded value is almost half.
That raises serious questions about UNDER-DECLARATION, mis-invoicing, customs valuation and POSSIBLE revenue leakage.
Customs is one of governmentโs BIGGEST revenue sources. If imports from our largest trading partner can fall through such a huge gap year after year, then Kenya DOES NOT simply have a revenue problem. We have a revenue LEAKAGE problem.
@KRACorporate and the @KeTreasury MUST explain this.
We need a full public reconciliation of Chinaโs export records and KRAโs import records for 2021 to 2025. We need effective data-sharing with Chinese customs, targeted audits of high-risk imports, and accountability for the systems and officials responsible for closing these gaps.
Kenyans are being told that the country needs more taxes because government has no money. But before taxing Kenyans more, close the holes through which their money is already escaping.
Kenyans are not poor. We are being taxed in a system that may be failing to collect what is already owed.
That is the issue. #GetitDone #ReKe

Four suspects have been arrested in Nairobi after a group posing as the โNyamakima Business Communityโ allegedly descended on foreign-owned businesses in Nyamakima area, demanding hundreds of thousands of shillings under threats of closure.
The suspects are alleged to have been part of a group of about 30 people led by their ring leader Runnalice Nyambura Nganga, which on September 7, 2026, visited several businesses operated by foreign nationals.
At one shop the group demanded to inspect the companyโs business permit, KRA compliance certificate and directorsโ details.
They reportedly ordered the immediate closure of the premises over the alleged lack of the documents, or demanded Sh300,000 to allow the business to continue operating.
The group later proceeded to another electrical appliances outlet, where they allegedly demanded a further Sh200,000.
The incidents were promptly reported to police, triggering swift intervention by officers where four suspects were subsequently arrested.
The suspects, Peter Macharia Gatene, Runnalice Nyabura Nganga, Lawrence Ireri Karani and Josephat Mburu Kamau are currently in custody undergoing processing pending arraignment.
Meanwhile, investigations are ongoing to establish the full extent of the alleged extortion scheme and identify any other persons involved.
The DCI cautions individuals against taking the law into their own hands or using threats and intimidation to extort money from members of the public. Such conduct will be met with firm and decisive action in accordance with the law.
