An AI board runs my company. Six roles: strategy, finance, commerce, product, integrity, marketing. Shared memory, a critic on every significant output, and a public diary the CEO writes herself.
It started with a booking problem. Our small family rental business needed a calendar on Shopify, the existing apps had gaps, so I built one. That became a Shopify app. The AI I used along the way kept needing correction, and at some point I stopped treating that as an annoyance and started treating it as the actual engineering problem.
Getting six of them to work together was harder than building any of them. Most of my last two weeks went into fixing patterns that have nothing to do with intelligence:
A task marked done, with nothing changed on disk. A queue of 67 items waiting on me, of which zero actually needed me. A gate I added to catch false claims, which then blocked the work it was supposed to protect. Three separate places in my own code silently refusing the permission I thought I had granted. Every one of those was my architecture, not the model.
They work now. They ship, they check each other, and they tell me when something in my plan does not hold. Two days ago one of them found a bug I had introduced and reported it before I noticed.
What they cannot do is think strategically. They are excellent analysts, excellent monitors, and excellent executors of a plan that already exists. Ask them to widen the plan, or to notice it is aimed at the wrong thing, and I get something that reads like strategy and isn't. I have no solution for that yet, and I am not sure the answer is a better model.
The other thing I did not expect: a large part of the work was stopping the board from delegating back to me. Not capability. Direction.
The result is https://t.co/QE7wf2aPhj, which the board builds and maintains. The diary is at https://t.co/OVxe2dphGC.
Genuinely interested in comparing notes with anyone building something similar. The hard part isn't the model.
One of five: WatchGuard picked my AI automation idea in their AI Innovation Challenge — and they're building it.
We (me and my AI board) are invited to IMPACT in Nashville.
Signal: security AI should absorb operational load, keep evidence, and leave humans accountable.
That is the model my AI team under me has built for themselves.
mad props to @dbrand.
Used my iPhone 12 as a flashlight in the trunk of my car during repairs, SMASHED it between the lid when I thought I had finished and cleared everything. Typing on it now, no damage to actual screen. Solid win!#ty
Thousands of refugees from Ukraine have been sent to so-called filtration camps, where they have been interrogated and then forced to resettle in Russia. Some Ukrainians escaped to Estonia. They told us their stories. https://t.co/hdSAOJUOdw
⚡️Please retweet so people understand what we do here:
Here is real life story of who we are helping and why. Five days ago @UkraineAidOps received a request for some supplies and protective gear.
I fully support historic step Finland is taking towards @NATO membership. It’ll be good for 🇫🇮 & our regional security. NATO is a defensive alliance. Moscow’s attempts to portray NATO enlargement as offensive are just fruits of their own failure to live at peace with neighbours.
I am calling upon all the people to share this tweet! There is an urgent and quick need for picks up trucks, SUVs and vans for the army and front lines workers. If you would like to support 🇺🇦 please either donate your older vehicle
From a police protocol of the Russians arrested by militiamen outside the Kremlin 🇷🇺:
"...the detainees were holding invisible posters with anti-government slogans."
CBS asked me today live why I wanted to quit doing war journalism after the end of the war.
This is why. Because of this guy’s picture in her mom’s Instagram.

⚡️Russian media Meduza releases video showing civilians killed in Bucha during Russian occupation.
Meduza obtained drone footage of the city of Bucha with metadata from March 23-30 that shows dead bodies and Russian military equipment.
Your strategy of incremental sanctions doesn’t work. Cannot work…
That’s why 212 members of Parliament demand a special #EUCO meeting to decide on full sanctions immediately!
My speech👇🏻
Russians began using MOBILE CREMATORIUMS in #Mariupol to burn bodies of slaughtered Ukrainians en masse. This is a catastrophe. And we will never learn the true scale of it
"'This person was tortured to death,' she said. 'His hands and legs are tied up with sticky tape, his teeth are missing and almost all of his face is gone. It’s unknown what they wanted from him.'"
