For the third time, my app got rejected
Two months ago, I bought my first Apple Watch and wanted a simple step counter widget. Instead of using one of the many existing apps, I thought:
“Why not build it myself and see if I can monetize it?”
I added features, improved the experience, but it still got rejected as spam because there are already so many apps in this category
So I’ve decided to put this project on hold and move on to building the next one
But right now, I’m out of ideas 😅
🚨 A DEVELOPER JUST RELEASED FaceGate—a native macOS app locker that lets you lock individual apps with Face Unlock, Touch ID, or a password.
If you’ve ever felt nervous handing your laptop to someone for a few minutes, you know the struggle of having to lock your whole system just to protect your private messages or apps. FaceGate fixes that, and it actually feels native to macOS.
The best part? It’s built for privacy-first users:
Everything runs locally on your Mac (no cloud processing).
Zero telemetry and zero subscriptions.
It uses Apple’s Neural Engine for fast authentication and includes liveness detection to prevent spoofing.
It’s lightweight, fully open source, and honestly feels like one of those tools that should have been a default feature on macOS years ago.
Free. Open source. Essential for any Mac user.
Who’s trying this out on their machine today? 🔥
@IsmailKamdar Do we need a digital detox? This is exactly why I keep asking. The algorithm pushes engagement ahead of depth. How are you filtering yours?
@AdamJMatlock I bought a portable unit for family in London last summer. The vent kit wouldn't fit the window frame, and the masonry holds warmth for hours.
@BritishHodl@SartorialShootr Exactly. Ten years here and I still notice it every time I fly back. My barista remembered my order last week without me saying a word.
You no longer need to redesign or rebuild your product separately for mobile; a website built in Lovable can now become a fully functional iOS app in minutes.
So I tried something crazy:
I built a home service landing page site in Lovable, then turned it into a native iOS app using @SuperAppIOS
Here’s my exact process:
→ Build website in Lovable
→ Paste the URL into Superapp
→ Hit generate
→ Wait a few seconds
→ Deploy directly as a mobile app
