We are a coalition of organizations from across Ottawa, and we advocate for municipal budgets that prioritize social, environmental, and economic justice.
Cathy Curry is trying to use the growing population as a reason to increase the police force's budget and presence in communities while lumping together the gaps in resources for fire & paramedics. The police budget does not fund paramedics or fire, it funds militarized police.
We have been hearing that members of the @OttawaPolice Services Board have been replying to residents via email saying that the Police budget is DECREASING despite them clearly getting an increase year after year.

If the mayor is so concerned about "empty buses" he could actually do something to attract riders, instead of more cuts.
We've been banging this drum for awhile: frequency, bus lanes, fare relief. If you can grab a bus every 5-10 mins without delays, transit becomes worth using.

I don't doubt some candidates have faced some personal attacks and that's never okay but attempts to equate that to things like legitimate policy grievances, calling out corporate and developer influence and people trying to hold politicians accountable is extremely disengnious.
