@clydetheconnect@_iamjamila this one sided beef you have with ovrkast is pathetic. idk if he ignored your request for a feature or didnโt listen to your tape but you are doing entirely too much, searching his name and linking AI art of a grown ass man under every tweet. olympic gold medalist dick riding.
@mvcksoulo once again, itโs only confusing if you are illiterate. if you cannot realize within 2 seconds they are two completely different words, that is your problem. itโs unfortunate, but you peopleโs idiocy isnโt strong enough to build a case on.
@mvcksoulo why are you pretending thatโs what you said lmao youโre not even trying anymore. go ahead and search can outkast trademark the letter k. iโll wait for you to catch up.
@mvcksoulo do YOU? the fact you think they even have the capability to trademark a letter tells me you shouldnโt be engaging in this conversation. why do you think they donโt have the letter k trademarked if itโs so easy lol. i beg you, before responding this time.. quick google search.
@mvcksoulo โwhat rule says you canโtโ โฆ..? they have no legal authority to trademark a single letter of the alphabet, which is public domain. once again, they did not invent replacing โcโ with โkโ. hence why only OUTKAST is trademarked. and OV(E)RKAST is not biting that.
typed all this just for it not to change a damn thing bc the basis for the suit is still weak. the only thing he did wrong was ever agreeing to change his name and sharing any details online, but with all the pressure on him itโs easy to understand why he wants to defend himself.
He was repeatedly put on notice. OutKast was BEYOND patient with him, if you ask me. This went on for over a year before a lawsuit was ever filed.
The facts that people seem to leave out:
June 2025: He receives a cease-and-desist.
July 2025: He gives an interview where he himself acknowledges that people read Ovrkast as OutKast and confuse the two (I know his lawyer was pissed because this is literally the confusion at the center of the trademark dispute. He talks too much.)
Then the attorneys negotiate. According to the lawsuit, they reach terms for him to transition to OVERKXST. His own attorney later asks OutKast for MORE TIME, requesting a July 15, 2026 deadline.
OutKast agrees to the extension and sends the finalized agreement.
July 13: two days before that deadline, he comes back asking to use different names they ALREADY declined.
July 15 passes and he continues using OVRKAST.
OutKast STILL doesnโt immediately sue him. They send another notice on August 5 and give him until August 11 to comply.
According to the complaint, he doesnโt respond and continues using the name. The lawsuit isnโt filed until September 16.
It has now been a year+ of back and forth.
Then when the lawsuit becomes public, he wants to troll until he tweets: โI NEVER SIGNED any agreement. It was verbalโฆโ He later deletes that post (again, he talks too much) and reposts his response without the part acknowledging the verbal agreement.
So no, this wasnโt OutKast randomly deciding to financially crush some โyoungโ artist. There was a year of warnings, negotiations, an extension his side requested, another opportunity to comply, and continued use of the disputed name before they finally sued.
Now theyโre asking the court for an injunction, profits tied to the alleged infringement, damages, legal fees and destruction of OVRKAST-branded materials.
He fucked around and found out. ๐คท๐ฝโโ๏ธ
@memoryofxela@SickamoreTreezy@KiDCuDi it is very much both of them directly doing this lame ass shit. the holding company is owned and controlled by the two of them and them alone.
