The highlight of my #IWD2018, and possibly my career, was saying ‘Wait stop! It’s international women’s day so I don’t have to listen to any mansplaining today!’ to a flabbergasted surgical junior doctor who was explaining antibiotics to me (I’m the ID reg).
@notjustairway@ketaminh I’m a long way from perfect, believe me!.....but, even the best people will struggle and make “mistakes “ if the systems we work don’t allow them to be their best. Solutions largely lie in fixing our risk-prone systems. Recognise and mitigate that risk..

Resilience training is a personal solution to a systemic problem. Treat the associated causative system too.

A safe workplace includes a mentally safe workplace.

The other day I made an entry in a patient's electronic records. It was the wrong patient. I have asked colleagues if they have done the same. So far every one has said yes. I know why it happened. There's been no harm done but it worries me it can happen so easily.
