Dear Sir, Tax deduction for foreign expenses is wrong and the justifications are even more wrong:

Parity between debit and credit cards is thinking two wrongs make a right. They don’t.

For tracing, if at all a 0.1% rate (like in property deals is right) would work - people who don’t want to do admin paperwork can just choose to give it up

This will not prevent money laundering, it will CAUSE money laundering. Who wants to pay 125$ for a 100$ product.

No one uses credit cards to circumvent the LRS (except maybe a few people) - credit cards on average have a credit limit of just 1-2 lakh rupees. At most a credit card can be the straw on the proverbial camel.

The explanations and circulars in just one day are bizarre already - an employer on a business trip can’t use it while an employee can.

TDS may not be a tax burden, but it imposes serious liquidity, operational and regulatory burden besides impossible paperwork and proving for instance that a coffee consumed abroad is a business expense to your bank.

No one uses credit cards: “rich for buying property, shares” or “real estate, bonds, stocks outside India” as argued. I’m not aware of any property available at 1 lakh rupees or brokers who accept credit cards for payments (are too expensive)

What MoS states is a fact. SEBI was and is investigating Adani group but that was with regards to the minimum shareholding in listed entities. So was minister lying in parliament? Ans is no.

SEBI today in SC has said look someone is saying we are investigating Adani since 2016 but that’s not true. The 2016 matter is about GDR’s and that is against some 51 cos. Adani is not one of them. So pls give us 6 months to reach the truth in Hindenburg matter. Is SEBI lying? Obviously not.

Imagine you have a friend like Modi who sends MCA, DRI, SEBI and what not against you. Will you prefer such a friend? I wouldn’t!

PS: fun part, all the things I have tweeted are in the SS shared by Jairam sir himself. He knows that nobody reads stuff. So let’s says anything and get away with it. 😂
