Six years of 4 am tennis practice. Sixteen hours sleeping on a cardboard box outside a consulate. Then a forty-five-second interview with Goldman Sachs that changed everything…
People only see the moment, not the years of unreasonable effort behind it.
client spent $36,000 through our agency, straight to ad platforms...they sold $1.27m's in the following 30 days...and then let us go! Some people don't know what good looks like, even when it falls right into their bank account I guess...
@AlexHormozi spent my last $5k in 2015, as I was heading into bankruptcy, asked my wife for "all" that we had to our name, and she told me to send it...$44m later, I guess it worked out :)
the money is made in the boring, repetitive actions, taken day in and day out, for long periods of time (decades often)...without a sign of progress, wondering if it will ever work....with no guarantee of success.
I can’t sell my house even if I wanted to…I paid $550k a few years ago and it recently appraised for over $700,000 site unseen by the bank.
My interest rate is sub 3%.
So what now? I guess I’ll ride this one out…do some upgrades to enjoy it even more, and know I’m locked into my primary residence for the foreseeable future.
I don’t sound happy or content, I know…but I just don’t like not having options.
You don’t need a new marketing plan, a new channel to run ads on, or even a new landing page.
You need to do more of what’s already working, stay focused on the mission, and stop trying to make your business satisfy your emotional needs.
Do more until you can’t, then and only then try to improve.
And once you’ve done more, and better things, then you can try something new.
I learned this from @AlexHormozi and it’s served me well.
In the beginning they call you “crazy” or tell you to be content with what you have…
“Must be nice.”
That’s what they say after you’ve already won.
Even my own wife knows I’m a dreamer…but at least she goes along with it.
So yeah, I will continue to day dream about all the ways I can solve problems, make money, and give back…
In the meantime, keep your “must be nice” to yourself.
No one ever says good job anyways, and I don’t need a pat on the back now.
I turn 42 in a few months and I’ve never been more motivated to win.
I just pray, as my pastor shared today…that I don’t succeed at things that never really mattered.
It’s Sunday night and I’m planning for the week.
While the calendar is sprinkled with meetings — nothing is due.
This is an odd feeling…this is freedom that comes from owning vs being employed.
Most will fight traffic on the way into the office tomorrow.
I’ll decide whether or not to make coffee at home or run to Dunkin.
Most will never experience this lifestyle but it comes at a great price.
I don’t advise anyone to make this trade.
Owning businesses and being employed by one is very different.
Both are hard in there own way, so I guess you just gotta chose your hard.
I’ll take morning coffee decisions any day of the week.
