Another relevant graphic: weight stigma is especially prevalent in settings associated w “fitness.” Ppl don’t take into account the other factors that may contribute to a person’s weight i.e. genetics, mental health, etc.

@olivia_o13 Me too! I feel that having the internet be so vast, it allows for more perspectives but it also allows the “the ideal” body to exponentially increase for the same reason. I’m also sure algorithms play a HUGE role too! Social media wants you to see what they think you want to see!

Because of this class, every time I’m on social media I see something I can relate to class (in a good way)! I saw someone quote tweet a tik tok w the caption “if you eat like this hit me up.” The tok in question was a conventionally attractive, “average” size young woman (cont.)
