Mr. Musk, yes, no billionaire should dictate a nation’s policy - Indian or American.
India must welcome competition in satellite internet, from Indian and global providers, whoever offers the most practical and affordable last-mile solution for those in remote regions. In countries with lower per-capita incomes, satellite internet must be affordable too. High subscription fees and equipment costs risk putting it beyond the reach of ordinary households. Connectivity must bridge the digital divide, not create a new one.
India knows our networks and spectrum are strategic infrastructure, not merely commercial assets. India’s national security safeguards are non-negotiable.
Every country makes choices based on its own interests. Those in the West cannot preach free markets while practicing protectionism at home. USA imposed 100% tariffs on Chinese EVs to protect its domestic industry, just as India takes measures to protect its own domestic manufacturers. Both India and the US have restricted Huawei over security concerns. One cannot demand a level playing field from others only when it suits its own agenda.
Indians will internally debate, question and address our strengths and shortcomings as a democratic country.
Take BharatNet, India’s programme to bring broadband to village-level local bodies. We will question why, as the CAG’s 2026 audit report found, the programme is struggling to meet its original objectives. Why were only 33.2% of service-ready Gram Panchayats operational, despite ₹39,888 crore being spent? At the same time, we know to appreciate our telecom sector and regulations, which has made internet data among the world’s most affordable, bringing millions online.
India is a democracy, not a colony. We welcome the world, but we, the Indian people, will decide our own future - not Western vested interests, their double standards or any billionaire - Indian or American.
Irrespective of gender, TN ppl love worship culture be it god, actor, politicians, gurujis, elders, caste, toxic partners, etc., they have no categories left. They don't question instead jump from one category to another.
Genuinely don't understand how Vijay has a large female following after his wife filed divorce on the grounds of adultery and emotional abuse. Like can any fan justify it to me? I'm willing to learn how this is forgivable.
Those comparing internet prices in US directly should also check Netflix & Apple TV prices in India vs the US.
If something is expensive, Indians simply won’t buy it.. company’s loss.
Indian telecom companies are just scared of Indians getting good tech at affordable prices.
Spare us the crocodile tears, @elonmusk.
My home office, in a village at the foothills of the Western Ghats in Tamil Nadu, runs on 200+ Mbps BSNL fibre for under $15 a month. Starlink's comparable 200 Mbps plan in the US costs $85 a month, plus a $349 dish.
BharatNet has made more than 90% of village panchayats broadband-ready, and the rest are due by March 2027. In rural America, nearly 1 in 4 households still has no wired 100 Mbps provider.
Rural India isn't waiting to be rescued.
🚨🚨TN’s Men Are Dying Too Young And The Data Needs Attention
Tamil Nadu recorded 4.02 lakh male deaths vs 2.91 lakh female deaths in 2025, a gap of 1.10 lakh deaths.
The most worrying part: 86% of this gap came from people aged 15–64, the years when people are working, raising families and supporting ageing parents.
The age-wise gap is striking:
• 15–24: 9,167 men vs 4,461 women
• 25–34: 17,135 vs 6,177
• 35–44: 31,585 vs 11,406
• 45–54: 54,743 vs 26,269
• 55–64: 81,840 vs 51,365
Officials cite road crashes, suicide, tobacco/alcohol use and poorly detected heart, kidney and metabolic diseases among the concerns.
There is also a major data gap: only 41% of registered deaths were medically certified in 2025.
The comparison with Sweden is particularly interesting. Sweden recorded almost equal male and female deaths in 2025 — around 46,000 each. But the key difference is when people die: only about 10% of deaths in Sweden occur before 65, compared with 42% in Tamil Nadu.
This is more than a health statistic. Preventing premature deaths among working-age men is also about protecting families, children and household economic security.
🕯 Remembering the Nagarkovil school bombing 31 years on
At 12.50pm on 22 September 1995, a Sri Lankan Air Force aircraft bombed the schoolyard of Nagarkovil Maha Vidyalayam, where around 750 children were on their lunch break. More than 20 were killed, some as young as six. Surgeons carried out 22 amputations through the night; ten of the amputees were under 12.
The attack came hours after Colombo imposed press censorship on military reporting. The army first denied it, then claimed the school was a Sea Tiger base.
"We were all wearing white uniform," a survivor who was 11 at the time recalled. No one has ever been held accountable.
Patriarchy is so deeply rooted that WOMEN can walk into someone else's house as guests and still somehow end up in the kitchen.
While the MEN even from the host family get to sit back, relax, chill, enjoy the food, and talk about how much they sacrifice for their families. 🙄
Yesterday I watched “Soul” to remind myself that maybe the purpose of life isn’t always finding some big purpose. It’s simply being present enough to enjoy being alive.
He is the reflection of his followers. He has become the voice of the people who thinks similar to him. They chose him coz he articulates their thoughts well. Story of every single religious leader.
