OK here we go. Conceivably the greatest, most technical accomplishment in the history of natural history art: nearly 4000 glass models of flowers created by Rudolph and Leopold #Blaschka for @HarvardMuseum. None of the objects in here look like glass.
Readers, they're all glass.

How to effectively 𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐔𝐋𝐓 frontline healthcare professionals - alive and dead, the scientific community, vaccinologists and immunologists in India in one go?
Learn from the masters themselves, the Indian Council for Medical Research, the supposed "apex scientific body" in India.
A 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐩𝐢𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐲, which the ICMR has published in 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐈𝐑 𝐎𝐖𝐍 low-class journal, the IJMR, based on weak assumptions, extremely poorly designed methods, replete with confounders & confirmation biases is out now.

In the study, featuring 19 authors- of which only 𝐓𝐖𝐎 are 'scientists' from India, both in the field of biotechnology, along with 17 other 'scientists' none from India, and no clinicians or epidemiologists, a staggering discovery was made.
The death rate due to Covid which was reportedly 5-8 fold lower in India compared to "West" was due to "health promoting" food items rich in turmeric and other spices such as steamed savory rice cake (a.k.a the idli), red kidney beans (a.k.a rajma) and Indian tea (a.k.a chai).
The reason for more death rate from Covid in the West? Red meat, dairy products and processed foods - based on cherry picked "key' food components across four countries.
It seems, the Indian diet suppressed cytokine storm and various inflammatory pathways in those affected by Covid-19 preventing death and organ injury but with foreign countries, death rate was high because their diets were designed to kill.
The scientists then go on a wild imaginary ride trying to fit their biased narrative based on weak assumptions from lab studies on cells and rats. The best part? They used datasets of severe Covid patients with high fatality and data sets from Indian patients without deaths without vaccination status!
Lower Covid-19 death in India 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐍𝐎𝐓 due to the Great Indian Kitchen featuring, very conveniently, "vegetarian" dishes, but due to UNDERREPORTING.

COVID-19 may have killed nearly 3 million in India, far more than official counts show. New analysis bolsters idea that country’s seemingly low death rate was misleading.

Why India's real Covid toll may never be known. More than 4.7 million people in India - nearly 10 times higher than official records suggest - are thought to have died because of Covid-19, according to a new World Health Organization (WHO) report.

And the countless other lives that were saved? Due to effective protocols in place including masks, a massive vaccination drive and effective public health communication.

As far as the study goes, I think this special group of scientists have rented out their brains and so-called health reporters in India have lost the ability of critical thinking.
1/n: Last year, I assigned a meme-making assignment to my evo bio course students. One suggestion was from @Torsay who recommended a .gif making assignment. So, @raxitdaves and I took the cue! We asked our 181 registered students (phew!!) to make a course-related .gif. #evobio
Just had a paper rejected. Generally fair feedback, respect the decision. But one reviewer rejected because ‘you clearly misinterpreted Croft et at (2015) work which shows you lack understanding of the theoretical complexities in this area’ 😬
