When your 5 yr old daughter sleeps for 12 straight hours you know she really needed it. I only checked on her repeatedly. Kindergarten really takes a lot out of her some days. So glad she loves school. She is excited to do school work at home being it is a snow day.
@Ms_Jenna_Scott Amazing idea. I think that kids would really enjoy this type of writing activity. Neat way to integrate learning with literacy, creativity and technology.
@000Dave@Ariel_Lawrence2@RyGuy0793 I agree it is not all equal. Allowing children to learn and explore concepts or apply concepts learned with technology & devices are good. Tech on top or using technology as a baby sitter is not ok. We need to be mindful and purposeful when integrating tech/devices. #IM421
Our students use technology everyday. How much device time is too much? Found this article & thought is was a good quick read about technology & the use of technology/devices students have access to today. #IM421@000Dave@RyGuy0793

What kind of tools are out there for teaching? Here is a great podcast & resource list of tools. Check out some of them & listen to the podcast. @cultofpedagogy does such a great job. Enjoy! #IM421

There are some great tools listed on this website. I think that MySchoolBinder, Mindmeister, Collaborize Classroom & ClassDojo to just name a few that I thought were interesting. #IM421@001haley https://t.co/CGzlXjSQwG
This article talks about the skills to teach our students to prepare them for their future; which is what teachers do, right? If not, what are we teaching? #IM421 https://t.co/cqErraJ4jv

Here is an article from MN that touched on the struggles teachers are facing this year & bringing digital content to distance learning. I liked how they touched on Virtual Mental Health & Social-Emotional Supports too. #IM421 https://t.co/ntQIs4NcTE via @educationweek
Incorporating digital content into the classroom is not just through the use of apps. There are great websites available and other tools as well. For example discovery education is a site students can explore. What else is out there? #IM421 https://t.co/VMePTbrWke
Integrating digital content. We need to understand what digital content is out there & how we can integrate them into the classroom. #IM421 Department of Education: Teacher Use of Digital Content https://t.co/05wBYw8Eoc via @YouTube
When selecting digital content for the classroom we need to know how and when we want to utilize the digital content. How do you go about doing this? #IM421

@OliviaTrobec I think that critical thinking and problem-solving skills are at the heart of teaching new skills to students at a very young age. Teaching skills is not easy especially these skills. Being creative in your teaching and mindful of the skills being taught are a must.
@OliviaTrobec Surprised my teacher though when I got the answers correct in math, biology and chemistry without using one. I never touched one until college when I borrowed my now husbands. He was mad when my professor wiped the data removing programs he put in there during Trig & Calculus.
@OliviaTrobec I cannot think of a time personally as it was not used as much during my school days. I do remember Graphing Calculators though. I was made fun of by teachers for not using one. We did not have the money to have one.
@Kally_Herdering @RingeisenHannah I agree, how do you choose the right tools & when to apply them to lessons. I think that this course has sparked interest & giving us the knowledge to be able to decipher which tools to start with & how to gain resources to help us make decisions. #IM421
@RingeisenHannah Being able to apply technology use & application is a skill both teachers & students need. But paper interaction is a skill we need as well. If we do not utilize paper interaction, students will not develop penmanship or good writing skills. Typing is not the same as writing.
