A podcast about the people doing SEO and AEO work: the experiments they've run, what the data showed, and how they got here. Hosts: @jonlclark and Joe DeVita.
New Page 2 Podcast episode is out with Tory Gray.
She started her agency because she was tired of executing "strategies" sold by salespeople who didn't understand how SEO works. Plans that were technically infeasible.
What's the worst plan you've been handed to execute?
@rollerblader on affiliate marketing as a career: affiliate managers are going to be in demand. Companies put the most entry-level person in the role, but the channel gives you access to multiple disciplines and talents you may not know you have. How did you land in affiliate?
ChatGPT's outbound traffic grew 700%+ year over year (SimilarWeb, 2025 vs 2024). That doesn't mean your traffic 7x's, but these chatbots are clearly hungry to send traffic out. With new models dropping, keep watching the trend. Seeing referral lift yet? @Kevin_Indig
@DuaneForrester prediction: Google launches auction-based ads inside AI Overviews, with Veo generating a video ad in real time. You hand over your brand book and your Amex; Google spots a cohort forming and builds the ad on the fly. Wild but never bet against Google. Plausible?
@JonLClark@lilyraynyc@lilyraynyc on stage and the room is taking notes. If you want the longer version of her thinking, here's her conversation with us: https://t.co/AfAgdAoE4V
Cut 80% of a client's content, watched rankings for everything else climb. That's how 'quality is a site-wide metric' clicked and Google's court docs later confirmed site authority is real. Have you ever pruned hard and won?
@JonLClark@LidiaInfanteM@LidiaInfanteM is a guest we'd put on any stage. If you want the longer version of her thinking, her episode is here: https://t.co/pTltX3sS6d
@AmosDuctan asked an AI what time the hotel pool opened, it searched and found that exact detail somewhere. Now's the time to make your content ready for voice retrieval, because AI needs to pull specifics on demand. Is your content structured for that yet?
Published first or published best? In breaking news, first probably wins. You get the links back and Google sees you as the original source. Whether you settle into "best" later is another story. But the race to break it matters. Full conversation with @shahzadabbas
Yoast's @alexmoss thinks the internet turns into a Kindle: one aggregate feed, personalized per visitor.
Same https://t.co/YWpFWHr0bR, different page for you and me: different order, colors, based on what an AI thinks you respond to.
Is "the website" already dead as a concept?
"I don't write code anymore, I voice it". Two AI tools @TheCoolestCool uses daily: Fathom for call notes and Whisper for voice-to-text everywhere, even the terminal. Voice AI moves me at a completely different speed. What's the one AI tool you can't work without?
@lsgseo: proximity is the number one factor for a lot of local queries. His move is renting a sublet (not a co-working space) for around $200 a month and verifying a Google Business Profile there with real staff, signage, and a business license. Would you try it?
@randfish top tip for would-be founders: go work somewhere else first. Get a few jobs, try a few startups. Even if you hate it... great, now you know what NOT to do. He dropped out and learned everything the hard way. Wouldn't recommend.
Did you do a stint first?
@patrickstox: I don't think any tool will have 100 search results after this year. Google changes something weekly, 35-40 blocking methods identified internally. The ceiling right now looks like 30. Our SERP team fights it daily.
How's this hurting you?
AI Overviews hit 2.5B monthly users. AI Mode crossed 1B.

Your website saying you're the best isn't enough.
@MobileMoxie's @Suzzicks's argument: LLMs are βconsensus machines.β
Social + video + reviews + third-party mentions increasingly shape what AI thinks your brand is known for.
SEO is becoming ecosystem optimization.
Soon it won't be humans changing your pages, agents will do it, and you won't know unless a tool is watching. Not every client tells you when they edit.
The next SEO tool job: monitor the site itself.

@LouisaFrahm favorite TikTok keyword research is dead simple: the search bar dropdown. When something pops on Google Trends, run the same search in TikTok and YouTube and read the dropdown for cross-platform opportunities.
What's your cross-platform trick?
New episode of Page 2 Podcast is live with @GregGifford from @SearchLabAgency. He breaks down what actually proves local relevance to Google across sales, service, and parts. What's the local SEO myth you hear most often?
