حضرت عمر بن عبدالعزیزؒ خلافت کی ذمہ داری سنبھالنے سے پہلے بنو امیہ کے ایک خوش حال اور لاڈلے شہزادے اور مدینہ کے گورنر تھے۔ نفیس لباس، عمدہ خوشبو، بہترین سواری اور پُرتکلف طرزِ زندگی ان کی شخصیت کی پہچان تھے۔ ان کے لباس، وضع قطع اور چال ڈھال کی نفاست کا پورے مدینہ میں چرچا تھا۔
لیکن جب خلافت کی امانت ان کے کندھوں پر آئی تو ان کی زندگی یکسر بدل گئی۔
جس شخص کو کبھی شاہانہ لباس اور خوشبوؤں سے پہچانا جاتا تھا، اس نے خلافت سنبھالتے ہی شاہی سواریاں، قیمتی سامان اور آسائشیں بیت المال کے حوالے کر دیں۔ لباس سادہ ہوگیا، خوراک معمولی ہوگئی اور ذاتی زندگی سے تکلف رخصت ہوگیا۔ انہوں نے اپنے گھر سے بھی قیمتی زیورات بیت المال میں جمع کرائے اور اپنے اہلِ خانہ کو سمجھایا کہ امت کی ذمہ داری اٹھانے کے بعد حکمران کا معیارِ زندگی رعایا کے حالات سے بے نیاز نہیں رہ سکتا۔
یہ تبدیلی محرومی یا مجبوری کا نتیجہ نہیں تھی؛ یہ اقتدار کے اخلاقی تقاضوں کا شعوری انتخاب تھا۔ وہ جانتے تھے کہ جو آسائش ایک عام شہری کے لیے محض ذاتی معاملہ ہوسکتی ہے، وہی اہلِ اقتدار کے لیے عوامی اعتماد، احساس اور جواب دہی کا سوال بن جاتی ہے۔
حضرت عمر بن عبدالعزیزؒ کی زندگی آج کے ہر صاحبِ اختیار کے لیے ایک آئینہ ہے۔ جب قوم مہنگائی، بے روزگاری اور ضروریاتِ زندگی کے بوجھ تلے دبی ہو تو قومی قیادت کے لئے سادگی، اعتدال اور عوامی احساسات کا لحاظ محض پسندیدہ رویہ نہیں بلکہ اخلاقی ذمہ داری بن جاتا ہے۔
نجی خوشیاں ہر انسان کا حق ہیں، مگر اقتدار سے وابستہ زندگی کبھی مکمل طور پر نجی نہیں رہتی۔ قیادت کی اصل شان نمائش میں نہیں، عوام کے حالات کے ساتھ ہم آہنگی میں ہے۔
حضرت عمر بن عبدالعزیزؒ نے ثابت کیا کہ اقتدار انسان کے معیارِ زندگی کو بلند کرنے کا نہیں، اس کے معیارِ ذمہ داری کو بلند کرنے کا نام ہے!

Former Indian CDS Gen. Anil Chauhan has declared that “unless the Makkah Pact explicitly states it is not against India, then India must assume it is against them,” arguing that the agreement carries major security implications for his country. Clearly, Chauhan does not pay heed to his worthy foreign minister’s views.

Well, the pact clearly says it is a defensive arrangement. Why would India not give Pakistan an assurance of non-aggression and get one in return?

Actually, Chauhan has once again divulged the thinking of the Indian security establishment. A state accustomed to aggression is now seriously worried about diminished prospects for future aggression. This is exactly the deterrence effect the Pact sought to create.

Moreover, coming from someone who was recently at the helm of India’s security architecture, it also reveals how the Indian establishment evaluates its own capabilities. If Indian capabilities really so vastly outweighed Pakistan’s, or if India had totally outmaneuvered Pakistan in the recent conflict, why would it be worried?

Equally frightening for the Indian establishment is the prospect of other regional states, such as Bangladesh, toying with the idea of joining the Pact, just as Syria is doing with Israel.

Clearly, the Makkah Pact is a force for good that has constrained the evil ambitions of two evil regimes.

More than a year after Marka-e-Haq, India refuses to face the harsh reality. Instead of conceding defeat in a failed venture, India has decided to colour history in her preferred hues. To achieve this mutilation of history, Indian content creators have produced a highly dramatised, coloured and factually inaccurate account of so-called Operation Sindoor, packaged as a documentary featuring senior political and military leadership of India. For its lack of nuance and seriousness, the documentary can be characterised as a tragedy and a comedy at the same time. Selectively edited interviews, emotional narration and cinematic Bollywood style reconstruction have been used to alter established facts and rewrite the operational outcome.

Tellingly, the documentary’s account contains fundamental contradictions, exposing a belated attempt to manufacture a domestically palatable version of events.

The documentary attempts to establish a deliberate linkage between an address by the Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff on 16 April 2025 and the Pahalgam incident of 22 April 2025, conjuring a conspiracy theory out of nothing. More significantly, India subsequently claimed that the three alleged perpetrators of Pahalgam were identified and eliminated on 28 July 2025, 82 days after so called Operation Sindoor. Yet the documentary presents so called Operation Sindoor as the punishment for those responsible for Pahalgam. If the alleged perpetrators were eliminated on 28 July, India must explain, who it claims to have punished on 7 May 2025.

The claim of “100 percent mission success” is equally detached from operational record. During Marka-e-Haq, Pakistan’s Armed Forces successfully thwarted Indian aggression and shot down 8 military aircraft. Pakistan subsequently conducted Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, employing Fatah precision-guided rockets & missiles, PAF precision munitions, long-range loitering munitions and precision artillery against 26 military targets, including facilities used to target Pakistani citizens, and entities involved in fomenting terrorism against Pakistan.

The documentary itself further undermines its claim of clear Indian dominance. Indian military leadership acknowledges extensive Pakistani missile, drone and air activity, sustained engagements along the Line of Control and the activation of Indian air-defence systems. Such admissions are difficult to reconcile with its repeated portrayal of Pakistan being decisively defeated.

The documentary’s account of the cessation of hostilities is no less revealing. Its own narration confirms that hostilities ended through communication between the two DGMOs and an agreed cessation of military action. This alone contradicts the attempt to portray Op Sindoor as a unilateral Indian military triumph. A cessation of hostilities, facilitated by US, cannot subsequently be repurposed as evidence of unconditional victory.

The documentary also contradicts itself on escalation dynamics. It repeatedly emphasises surprise, precision, deep strikes and escalation dominance, while simultaneously claiming that India deliberately limited the conflict and provided Pakistan an “exit window”. These competing claims expose the production as a carefully constructed domestic narrative rather than an objective military account.

India has not declassified the truth. It has cobbled together a propaganda video to project a military blunder as a successful endeavour.

No amount of cinematic reconstruction can change the chronology, erase aircraft losses, conceal military casualties, alter the military engagements that actually took place or convert a battlefield defeat into a self-proclaimed victory.

Pakistan has no need to manufacture a narrative around Marka-e-Haq. The operational record, battlefield evidence, diplomatic exchanges and India’s own subsequent statements speak for themselves and are widely acknowledged by international community.

Pakistan remains committed to regional peace and stability. At the same time, the Armed Forces of Pakistan remain fully prepared and capable of defending the country’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and national interests. Any future military misadventure will be met with a firm, decisive and disproportionate response, after which no amount of cinematic perjury will be able to provide any face-saving to India.

Seeing this 52-minute documentary leaves little doubt that @DeutscheWelle has done such a crude, intellectually dishonest, hatchet job of raising alarm about Pakistan’s nuclear program by questioning its legitimacy & safety, recycling old propaganda to link it to religious extremism! For example, the documentary starts off with the laughable proposition that Pakistan ‘illegally developed’ The Bomb, as if there’s a legal path to acquiring nuclear weapons, which Germany’s friends like India & Israel may have pursued! Then this documentary goes on to say the Pakistan Government ‘officially revealed’ the Bomb via the nuclear tests in 1998, WITHOUT MENTIONING that Pakistan’s tests were in response to the nuclear tests of India, also the architect of nuclearisation of South Asia, a fact that Deutsche Welle conveniently overlooks in its quest to demonise Pakistan! Given these low standards of professionalism of Germany’s ‘state-funded international broadcasting network’, it is perhaps no accident that Germany’s own international standing has fallen, since Germany suffered a humiliating defeat in elections to the UN Security Council in June 2026, losing to Austria & Portugal. Ironically, this defeat at the UN coincided with the first anniversary of German Chancellor Merzl’s shocking acclaim of Israeli aggression against Iran in June 2025, when he said ‘Israel is doing our dirty work’ & ‘rules of international law do not apply to Iran’!

Saudi Aramco is here. Kuwait Petroleum is here. QatarEnergy is here. PetroChina is here. Vitol is here. Trafigura is here. Vopak is here. Seven of the world’s energy giants, all circling the same asset: Pakistan’s storage capacity.

Look at Pakistan’s geography. To the west lies the Gulf, where nearly one-third of the world’s oil is produced. To the north lies Central Asia, a landlocked region that consumes nearly 757,000 barrels of oil a day. To the northeast lies China, the world’s second-largest oil consumer, burning more than 16 million barrels a day and importing around 11 million barrels a day. To the east lies India, the world’s third-largest oil consumer, using nearly 5.6 million barrels a day.

Look at Pakistan’s geography once again. Pakistan is close to production. Pakistan is close to demand. Pakistan is close to chokepoints. Pakistan is close to opportunity. Pakistan’s geography is real.

Red alert: Right now, Pakistan’s geography is the most underpriced asset on the face of the planet.

Look at Pakistan’s geography one more time. Pakistan sits just outside the Strait of Hormuz. Every regional crisis reminds the world of one hard fact: energy security is no longer only about production. It is also about storage, routing and redundancy.

Look at Gwadar, Hub and Port Qasim. Gwadar, Hub and Port Qasim can provide storage, re-export, emergency supply and regional distribution options. For Gulf producers, storing some fuel outside the Gulf reduces chokepoint risk. For Pakistan, storage increases energy security.

Saudi Arabia, Iran, UAE, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and Bahrain need Gwadar, Hub and Port Qasim. China needs Gwadar, Hub and Port Qasim. Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan need Gwadar, Hub and Port Qasim.

Three steps stand between Pakistan and Pakistan’s ‘Energy City’: a legal framework, bankable contracts and regulatory predictability. That’s it.

Look at the intersection: The Gulf is looking for strategic depth. China is looking for supply security. Central Asia is looking for access. Pakistan is looking for dollars. This is the opening. This is the intersection. That is Energy City. Yes, the oil may belong to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait or global traders. Pakistan’s benefit is the oil rent. Storage rent. Port charges. Pipeline tariffs. Blending fees. Bunkering margins. Insurance. Logistics. Security services. Jobs. Taxes. And foreign exchange.

Start with 17 million barrels of strategic storage. That alone can bring $500 million to $1 billion in investment. Storage rent can bring $50 million to $120 million a year. Scale that to 50 million barrels and Pakistan begins to look at $500 million to $1.2 billion a year. Build a mature hub – storage, bunkering, blending, pipelines, insurance, testing, trucking, re-export – and the number can cross $1 billion a year.

That is the business model. Not ownership of oil. Ownership of location. Ownership of storage. Ownership of movement. Pakistan has a choice: remain a country that imports energy insecurity or become a country that exports energy security. The mother of all questions is whether Pakistan’s governance can convert geography into cash flow.
