This week the @WHO World Health Assembly takes place. The decision on the #PandemicTreaty is on the agenda. It's our chance to be better prepared for future global health emergencies. Time to act now ➡️ https://t.co/l2OYv9wYFa #WHA74
Honoured to present @WHO Special Award to Dr Catalin Denciu from 🇷🇴, who rescued #COVID19 patients from an intensive care ward during a hospital fire in late 2020, even as he sustained severe burns himself. Thank you, Dr Denciu, for your bravery! #WHA74
#COVID19 lays bare the inequalities and fault lines in societies. It reminds us that good health is the foundation of sustainable futures for everyone. We all count on governments at #WHA74 to lead together, for a 🌍 that is safer, fairer and healthier. https://t.co/0hPtdmMk8k
Each week, tens of thousands still die from #COVID19. I & my fellow @WHO Special Envoys call for more action to end this tragedy. Govts @ #WHA74 need no greater motivation to make #HealthForAll a reality, from #VaccinEquity to ensuring O2 & other tools reach everyone, everywhere

In the Rome Declaration, @g20org leaders noted calls for an int'l agreement on pandemic prevention & preparedness. Recognition of work by countries & health partners worldwide to end this pandemic & prevent the next shows strong leadership #WHA74 https://t.co/mVVgbCpTeg

@aslavitt46 U.S.should take a key leadership role in moving to vaccine equity and partner WHO and other international agencies in this global issue to end the pandemic. We can make the whole world a safe place.
A very strong case could have been made that Dr Tedros - critical to global health, at higher risk - be amongst the very first vaccinated. He refused to make that case, insisted on waiting his turn, because he believes in equity & equity is not what one says but what one does✊🙏
To reduce #COVID19 transmission & protect people at risk, rich nations & manufacturers must practice #VaccinEquity while communities need to adhere to proven public health measures, like masks & physical distancing. Nobody is safe until everyone is safe

@DrTedros@FareedZakaria @FareedZakria your beauifully moving tribute to your mother resonates with so many during these Covid 19 days. Many were unable to see a parent or a loved one who passed away during this time. You speak for them too. Thank you so much.
I’m so sorry to learn of the loss of your mother, @FareedZakaria. I was really moved by your beautiful tribute to this exceptional woman. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Thank you for your wishes and prayers. As a matter of abundant precaution under medical advice, I have been hospitalised. I hope to be back home in a few days. Take care and stay safe everyone.
Wishing all Indians & my teammates on the 10th anniversary of our World Cup 🇮🇳 win.
