It’s starting to feel like people want a public inquiry into the Environment Agency and their failure to hold water companies to account.

We often fail to comprehend how recently the Netherlands committed to becoming a cycling nation.
Of their 38,000 km. of separated cycle paths, more than HALF—about 20,000 km.—was built in the past two decades.
And they’re still adding a staggering 1,000 km. each and every year.
We went on an inspiring visit last week to Whitelee Moor, to look at some peatland restoration work being done by @NorthWildlife. It was great to see different ditch blocking methods, and we hope to be able to use what we learned to help restore the peatland on the Tarras Valley.
Gamebird shooters furious at Minister's proposed snare ban in Scotland.
The arrogance & entitlement of this industry is laid bare. Imagine being angry about banning a device that causes so much suffering & distress.

In under two weeks the new fox hunting season begins.
It is illegal but there are hundreds of hunts flouting the law and doing it anyway. And some of them are allowed to use MoD land to hunt.
Please RT and sign our petition to end hunting on MoD land: https://t.co/qFbydts9rA

Oh dear, it looks like this moron who rides with the North Shropshire Hunt has his horse box with no MOT. Have you got anything to say about this @WMerciaPolice@WMPRuralMatters
Belvoir Hunt pays attack victims £48,500 compensation. This is great news, due to police inaction, most hunt sabs who get attacked never see justice. The LACs now have 'let go' all their investigators, it is only hunt sabs who remain to protect wildlife.

🐟 Scotland has a serious bycatch problem. Over 7000 tonnes of juvenile haddock were caught & discarded by bottom-trawlers in 2021.
More support for low-impact & selective fishing from the Scottish Govt is key to protect fish stocks for the future. https://t.co/YAT3dwENLw
Wild boar are a vital, native British species which our ancestors drove to extinction not so long ago. Now wild boar are back, in pockets, in Scotland and elsewhere.
And guess what, men in camo with thermal sights and guns are on a mission to eradicate them wherever they are found, even shooting lactating mothers and leaving the young to starve. The brutality is mind-boggling.
Wild boar are intelligent, curious, social creatures which live in tight matrilineal family groups, their knowledge passed from mother to daughter, each female caring for all the young as if each one were their own. Wild boar are wonderful animals, worthy of our respect and empathy. But no, not in zoophobe Britain.
In Scotland the cold-hearted ignoramuses out killing wild boar while claiming it’s for ‘the good of the land’ are simultaneously doing everything in their power to maintain hugely inflated numbers of native deer for canned shooting in the Highlands, to the extent that the majestic hills and glens are nearly entirely stripped of scrub, trees and nature, and Scotland’s remaining woodlands are being inexorably hollowed out.
Scotland’s government is complicit. In official comms wild boar are called ‘feral pigs’, to imply they’re not the native species they are. There are no closed seasons nor minimum calibre requirements for hunting wild boar anywhere in Britain. Do what you want to them, whenever and wherever you like, no matter how callous or perverted.
Once wild boar become established, of course hunting will be necessary and good. But that’s a far cry from the current free-for-all, unlicensed, year-round mission to eradicate them.
The only way to turn things around is for ordinary voters to demand that politicians do what it takes to protect and restore wildlife and nature in our countryside. It’s a simple choice.

Gamekeepers using night vision goggles to shoot roosting golden eagles and hen harriers, claims RSPB.
I can well believe it. These birds' satellite tag data have provided us with quite an insight.

Your reminder that right now there are people going out with packs of harriers, beagles, and bassets to chase and rip apart hares.
The hare hunting season is well underway across the UK and lasts until Spring time.
Please give this a RT and help expose hare hunting.
