Underrated life advice: Have a place where you go to think. A porch. A trail. A coffee shop. A park bench. Somewhere your mind knows it's time to slow down. Most people spend their lives searching for answers. Few create the conditions for answers to appear.
Everyone always says buy a house.
It goes up in value, blah, blah, blah.
But you know a house costs you money every single day.
Money to maintain, to replace this, fix that.
Whereas you could just buy gold and sit on it.
Buying a house is not a smart investment.
Investing in your skills is a smart investment
Investing in a business that you can grow is a smart investment.
A house is not.
If you really want to make an investment, invest in you.
@jasonfried UPS seems like can't afford to have customer service. The one thing that has worked for me is to go to the nearest UPS warehouse, usually closer to the airport and talk to them directly there.
