Thank you to everyone who participated in #NationalNightOut today!
We had more than 200 NNO parties across #ArlingtonTX, which proves this is a community that wants to be involved and wants to engage with us.
Building relationships is how we build a safer, stronger city.
Today, I had the great pleasure of welcoming 46 new recruits to the APD Academy.
This is one of the largest classes we’ve ever had — and I’d like to thank our Personnel & Recruiting staff for making it happen.
Good luck Class 70! I know you’ll work hard!

To address some of our citizens concerns regarding traffic issues such as speeding, reckless driving, etc., we have implemented a safe roads initiative program.
Our APD traffic unit will be conducting traffic enforcement today from 11pm-1am at I-20, I-30, SH 360.

Today, members of our @WSPDTX Honor Guard and I, attended a celebration of life for retired @ArlingtonPD Assistant Police Chief Kevin F. Kolbye.
After starting with the @DallasPD in 1983, he joined the @FBI in 1987 and worked his way to the Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Dallas Field Division. In January 2015, Kevin joined Arlington as an Assistant Police Chief. He was a positive influence and we worked together for many years. Kevin retired from APD in 2022 and is survived by his wife Angela, his daughter Amanda, his son Chase, and his stepsons Elliott and Alexander, their girlfriends Macie and Annabelle, and his sister Karen and brother-in-law Doug.
Special thanks to the Arlington Police Department Honor Guard and executive command staff for attending and participating in the service today. @BNSFRailway Chief Special Agent @Will4IACP presented the flag to his wife Angela. Privileged to join other speakers in highlighting his legacy and impact on municipal policing.
Great seeing @OsFlores, @HPDChiefMcGrath, @SchertzPolice Chief Jim Lowery, @JefferyPetty, Craig Taylor, Joan Montgomery, @pappydove and so many more!
THAT was pretty darn cool!!!
Our very own Lt. Ray Polk just got to perform “God Bless America” At Game 1 of the #WorldSeries!!!

Whatever happens in coming weeks, I think it’s clear that there was substantial information and support for the attack came from Palestinians with work permits.
I cant imagine Israel can continue the program as is.
The Arlington Police Department and Dallas County Sheriff's Office are asking for the public's help to identify and locate the driver who hit and killed Officer Darrin McMichael one week ago today.

For nearly 25 years, Officer Darrin McMichael honorably and courageously served the City of Arlington.
I want his family and friends to know how much he was loved and respected by his community and his @ArlingtonPD family.
We will never forget him.
#ArlingtonTX
We also want to thank everyone who has reached out to us today. Your love, support, and kind words have been uplifting and a source of strength during this extremely difficult time.
Please continue to pray for Officer McMichael's family, friends, and his APD family. 💙

Officer Darrin McMichael was a respected and beloved member of our APD family. This is a devastating loss that will be felt for a long time.
Please pray for his wife, who is also an APD employee, his family, and his APD family. They need all our support right now. #ArlingtonTX
We know Officer McMichael was well known, admired, and loved by many beyond the walls of the police department.
And so we have placed a Traffic vehicle outside of our main station (620 W. Division St) where community members are welcome to come pay their respects.
