Also, if you consider me as any kind of a “guru” then even though I’m humbled and I appreciate it I wanna say that I’m just a dude, and I struggle with a lot of things like many other programmers do. Programming is hard, OSS is hard, life’s hard, so let’s just support each other.
I gave myself a 3 day budget to build small web app to help my girlfriend run her medical practice.
Basic crud functionality like managing prescriptions, formulas, a mini CRM for patients, etc.

Do not ever think you can skip a step or two, do not think you can boil valuable stuff from nothing by using some kind of magic. It always bites you back and you will need to gain understanding and do the hard work anyways. Later or sooner.
As a CEO, I do not want heroic efforts, enduring loyalty, or even passion for the mission. I want colleagues who are rested, happy, and live full lives. They get more and better work done and I don’t have to cry myself to sleep.
On the other hand, maybe being a bit tipsy is how you make it through the day having to listen to endless startup pitches, hustle-mania contests, and that open-office vibe 🤷♂️
Advice for new programmers: become comfortable with `git rebase` now instead of waiting a few years to realize how much effort you could have saved yourself.
You can be highly successful and not know much about git, but you’ll be even successfuller if you do!
Starting a boot camp for privileged developers who want to become 10x more effective and business savvy. It works like this, you donate all your money and adopt two kids and suddenly discover your capacity to make choices based on the bottom line instead of what's shiny & fun.
@pajasevi Life is subjective thing and will never be anything else ;) Though I get your point, the definition should have been more precise, my experience is ofc framework vs. framework, ie. Vue + Vuex + Webpack vs. Ember
My world might be oversimplified, but Vue vs. Ember feels like early PHP vs early Rails. The comfort of building something and feeling "it has some structure and pbbly always will" makes me worry less and thats good!
If we would start webdev from scratch and had to choose between:
- CSS vs css-in-js
- REST vs GraphQL
- Templates vs JSX
No sane person would choose the first options.
