Anne-Sophie Parent underlines how financial exclusion is linked to actual exclusion:
Television licenses could not be paid in cash in a member state, a court acknowledged that this amounted to excluding non-digital customers and that cash must always be accepted as a payment
Avenues proposed by the report by @forfinancewatch:
▶️ codesign to design products and regulation
▶️Get the #nondiscrimination framework done after 13 years of discussions
▶️Extending basic payment accounts and other regulation @EU_Finance
▶️Strengthen pension adequacy

The right to work should be granted regardless of one's chronological age. #Ageist stereotypes and discrimination should be eliminated to ensure that older people stay in the workforce, reenter the workforce, learn and train throughout their life. #OEWG11

New report by @UNHumanRights confirms that international human rights instruments do not cover consistently our rights in older age
🇩🇪 @GermanyUN, evidence is there that we need a dedicated UN convention. Will you lead the rallying at UN OEWG11?

It is essential that the voice of older women is heard in the ongoing debates on how to rebuild better our post-COVID-19 societies stresses @OWN_Europe ahead of #InternationalWomensDay
#COVID19 has shown just how badly things go wrong when our human rights are not adequately protected. We need stronger legal roots. We need a #UNConvention to help us shape societies & systems that are fair for all ages!
#OlderPeople#ItsAboutRights

@MichelBarnier Congratulations for all your efforts during these 4,5 years @MichelBarnier ! Very relieved that a deal could finally be reached. Now we can all look ahead to 2021. Happy New Year to all!
Very energized after @EU_Justice legal seminar and @elainemdewhurst report on age discrimination beyond employment. There is more cohesion&agreement than I thought among member states on the need to better protect from age discrimination. Time to adopt horizontal directive!
We welcome the first European standard for accessible environment! 👏 An important step to enable everyone to exercise their rights and fully participate in society https://t.co/KeK0S4nVZF @anectweet, @myEDF, @Fundacion_ONCE, @NormasUNE
