@IanByrneMP Unfortunately this government is a Labour Party my parents’ would not recognise. Instead of fair taxation of the very wealthy, @UKLabour have targeted segments of the population with devastating levels of taxation who will never vote Labour again.
Divide and fail politics.
An abundantly clear message sent to Labour today: Row back on your financially vindictive policies targeting small groups: farmers, parents of children in private school, pensioners & small business owners, return to true Labour values or face political annihilation #ElectionDay
@JamesMelville Increase tax free threshold to £20k, funded by dramatic efficiencies within public sector. No more lofty salaries for NHS D&I managers, no more chronic waste in government spend.
@PhilMyers53 Next you say?
Next will be a Reform-led government unless Labour or Conservative can dramatically change course and recapture electorate confidence. Both have proven to be a disaster and unfit to lead. What you’re seeing is voters rebelling against the two main parties.
@jonsopel No it’s not compulsory, but as a parent I can’t face looking into the eyes of a 4 and 8 year old to tell them they’re forced to change schools, ripped from their friends and forced to start afresh. Decision made pre-VAT with hefty personal sacrifice, goalposts have been moved.
The Government’s sums don’t add up. Taxing education and raising National Insurance will drag down standards for all our children. Watch my question to the Education Minister here 👇
@DrNShastriHurst @SchoolVAT Appalling dodge of the question by the Labour MP. Embarrassing when faced with such obvious pitfalls the government scrabbles to cling on to a crazy ideological fallacy that has already failed in other countries. Be interesting to watch the reaction when legal challenge succeeds.
@JackInABox91 @donmcgowan Those on the extreme left and right of the argument have seemingly blurred their personal identities with the debate. Certainly not a battle I’d want to define my character by, but at least a sensible outcome has finally been reached and the issue can be finally closed.
@LBC@TomSwarbrick1 It’s genius except - and I’m speaking for myself here - lack of hindsight in my early working years means I would have wasted the savings on fast cars and beer…
@MacMacaslin@henningwehn Gained one here. Need more rationale people on my timeline to drown out those with mental illnesses trying to impose their self-delusions on others and erode other people’s rights in the process.
BREAKING - Government facing historic defeat over private school VAT raid after ‘misguided’ attack on NAO findings - which Labour welcomed and then used against the Tories - and ‘urgent intervention’ from Speaker Lindsay Hoyle’s lawyers (via @Telegraph) https://t.co/pgRfMt6oym
@AstroMikeMerri@RupertLowe10 People cant present themselves as they wish, some characteristics are biologically assigned in the womb. Or are we to indulge in such mental illnesses fantasia as allowing people to fictionalise their biology - sex, race, species?
@LaindonFEMINIST Dangerously delusional. Labour have taken over from an incompetent bunch and raised the bar, opening the door wide for Reform to waltz into power almost uncontested at the next General Election.
