In the midst of an international marathon, Spanish runner Ivan Fernandez showcased an extraordinary act of sportsmanship that would resonate around the world. Known for his integrity and dedication to fair play, Ivan found himself in a unique and defining moment during the race.

As the runners approached the final stretch, Kenyan athlete Abel Mutai, who was leading the race, misinterpreted a sign and stopped a few meters short of the finish line, thinking he had completed the race. Ivan, trailing close behind, quickly realized what had happened. In that moment, Ivan faced a choice: capitalize on Abel’s mistake to secure his own victory, or help his fellow competitor.

Without hesitation, Ivan approached Abel and motioned for him to continue running. Abel, initially confused, quickly understood and resumed the race, crossing the finish line first. Ivan followed closely behind, satisfied not with a win, but with the knowledge that he had upheld the true spirit of sportsmanship.

The crowd erupted in applause, not just for Abel’s victory, but for Ivan’s profound display of integrity. Ivan’s actions demonstrated that the essence of competition lies in respect, fairness, and kindness, rather than merely winning.

Post race asked during interview Ivan said “I believe sportsmanship and integrity are more important than winning. A victory gained through someone else’s mistake isn’t a true victory. Helping Abel was the right thing to do. I hope people see that the spirit of competition is about more than just winning. It’s about respect, fairness, and doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.”

True victory is not just about crossing the finish line first, but about upholding integrity, respect, and sportsmanship. In life, as in sports, the greatest triumphs come from doing what is right, even when it means forgoing personal gain. Ivan Fernandez’s actions remind us that helping others and maintaining ethical standards are more valuable than any trophy or title.

Khatkar Kalan, a village in the Punjab where Shaheed Bhagat Singh was born. His mother Vidyavati whom every Indian honoured, lived here. The state of Punjab bestowed on her the affectionate title of Punjab Mata (Mother of Punjab). We have touchdown...AGAIN! 🌘

Yesterday the Vikram Lander fired up its thrusters once again to perform a little hop on the Lunar surface, becoming only the 2nd spacecraft to ever do so! 🥈

It lifted off, got to an altitude of only 40 cm and then landed again 30-40 cm away.

To safely perform this hop, the ChaSTE and ILSA instruments as well as the ramps had to be retracted and have been successfully redeployed after landing.

The reason for this hop was to test out aspects of future sample return missions and crewed missions to the Moon by ISRO!!

When scientists first examined bumblebees, they didn't understand how are bees able to fly with such a huge body to wings ratio. According to the physics it's impossible for a bumblebee to fly with such tiny wings.

However what they didn't understand at first that bumblebees don't actually fly, they levitate.

Inside a bumblebee there is a hollow cavity next to the larynx. When bees move their wings, the cavity start resonating the same resonance as the Earth's magnetic field at 7.83Hz.

The bee then becomes a free-agent inside a magnetic field, making the bumblebee able to levitate.
