I have compounded for over 25% annually since 2014, because I buy garbage like $pypl today. If I am wrong, I won’t lose much. Buffett’s lesson of not losing money gets understood in many ways
MUNGER: People don't seem to care what floor they're at, just whether the elevator is going up or down.
BUFFETT: That's true. People feel better when they're on the 2nd floor that just came [up] from 1 than they do when they're on the 99th floor coming down from 100.
@BRK_Student Him writing the letter on his own doubles this number, as the average 95 year old is not writing 8-page letters filled with facts from 70 years ago
the older people get, the more they spend on $deo products and for that reason I am in at $87- a generational buy - even if its expensive per traditional metrics. Once the pandemic inventory is cleared, the revenues will rise. Just a random November '25 opinion
Recreational cycling is likely safer than this data suggest. The NHTSA data is for all cycling mortalities. I'm a neurosurgeon at a level 1 trauma center in Chattanooga Tennessee. There is a large cycling community but almost all of the cycling head injuries resulting in fatalities we see are not recreational cyclist. Most of our cycling fatalities happen at night among individuals who use a bike for their primary means of transport. These are mostly homeless or low income males with no helmet or lights riding their bikes on urban 4 lane highways. My experience in the last 16 years of neurosurgery trauma call is pretty well reflected in this data. I mostly mountain bike but on my road rides I stick to certain rural areas that see a decent amount of cycling traffic with little commuting car traffic. Drivers are much more aggressive when driving home from work so I try to avoid cycling during the afternoon/evening commute (this is also the time of day with highest fatality rate according the NHTSA). Orthopedic injuries are unfortunately more common. My father-in-law is an avid cyclist and was struck by a car on a road ride outside of Athens GA last year. He had multiple orthopedic injuries but survived.
