We’ve seen a lot of confusion about the FDA’s recent announcement on ending animal testing by 2035, so let’s clear it up. The FDA’s 10-year phaseout plan doesn’t actually ban animal testing. It just makes it no longer mandatory. That means labs won’t be required to switch to modern, cruelty-free methods. Many will keep using beagles simply because it’s what they’ve always done, even though more effective, humane alternatives already exist. This change is step in right direction, but the demand for beagles and other lab animals will continue. And for those born inside places like Ridglan Farms and Marshall BioResources this year, ten years is a lifetime they may never get to experience in freedom. Thank you everyone for helping spread word about this.
