@JaredEMoskowitz@TheRickWilson Eventually, I guess even Comer became tired of being a laughingstock. How many times can one promise, then fail to produce a rabbit from that tired ol’ hat?
@GoAngelo@mehdirhasan@mmfa I’ve been hearing this for forty years, since Rush Limbaugh. It’s obvious, as is the fact that no one has countered it to more than a fractional degree. I’m about willing to subscribe to a corollary to the “different brains” theory: lefties just don’t like this stuff as much.
@MericaCulture@AMAZlNGNATURE I'm happy to believe in a clockmaker God, one who brought together the necessary parts, assembled them, then wound it up and set it in motion. What I do not see is the slightest evidence that she did not then walk away and never once look back.
@ifofgot @sentdefender Of course not. I know nothing of her military record, while Ike's is legendary. I do know, however, that anyone who has reached flag rank has garnered a chestful of ribbons; this was the case long before anyone had heard of DEI. And in full-dress, you must wear them all.
@ifofgot @sentdefender Close. Turns out that is from Mme Tussaud's in London, possibly ca. 1945! Since I can't find the photo the likeness was made from, how about this one, 12 June 1945, with an actual attribution.
@newyorkshade@Timodc Irrelevant. If I'm a known robber, I'm still allowed to intervene to halt a robbery in progress. The world is fractionally better off if I do so, and the intended victim much better off. (True, however, I must expect some justified backlash if I gloat.)
