I found this quote from blondie guy to be interesting and I continue to struggle with these takes because it always feels like the rebuttals are always (1) completely disingenuous and (2) insulting:

"Criticizing something requires the lowest IQ possible. Actually using it and seeing the potential is something completely different. It's easy to get to 80% but the final 20% is where all the intelligence is."

1. Umm...we're criticizing it BECAUSE we've used it.
2. People who don't have the skills calling people who do have the skills "low IQ" is diabolical.
3. Our criticisms are precisely that AI can do the first 80% and not the last 20%, lol. Using our own argument against us is like ... insane gaslighting.

This is likely why you're getting "hate and vitriol." It's the constant, "People who criticize AI are just stupid and ignorant and don't get it" when the reality is that insanely intelligent and qualified people are simply seeing things that you may not see.
