So 45 minutes ago, Pierre Poilievre tweeted against Trudeau & carbon pricing. And has tweeted...absolutely nothing calling out the attack on Chrystia Freeland, a colleague in the House of Commons. It's beyond appalling.
Conservative friends - I suggest you get on this fast.
Thank you again to PSAC members who mobilized yesterday by delivering letters and calling MPs to demand that Treasury Board fix their mistake! Make the call, tell your MP damages shouldn't be taxable!☎️https://t.co/6bJHgN5YUL🔥

Mask makers, check out this

I expect we’ll learn more about best mask practice (so stay distanced handwashed masked when advised and tuned in ....)
Some of this is common sense not evidence based so if you have better sources / different advice please share.
We’re still figuring out how much masks may add in reducing COVID in our communities and doing it “right” offers the best odds of it being helpful.
But not laying around please!!!
(If you were unwittingly infected the mask could concentrate virus so touching it and then other stuff= ungood. )
Handwash or sanitize after touching please.
Don’t wear it too long when damp (change it out) and warm water-soap wash daily.
No mask faux pas like chin wagging, ear dangling, nose protruding please. Handle the straps to put them on and take them off. Store contained: I’ve seen people use food storage sealable containers, ziplocks, I use an envelope to allow it to dry, not sure what’s best....
If cloth mask quality is higher they *might* protect the wearer some, but we don’t have direct evidence they do so remember to reduce number-duration of noncrucial contacts, #DistanceHandwashMask. Surprisingly large benefit to handwashing- say, 5X day minimum and for cause
We need cloth mask makers to step up and show us results like this: https://t.co/OW3SuvtYSU
To be honest though the basic “cough catcher” mask could be poorer quality and maybe still helpful, but people are supposed to not go out sick AT ALL, remember....
2) 3 layers of fabric, optimally two different fabrics at least with absorbent inner layer, more waterproof outer layer which stays drier, and spunbound (polypropylene) middle layer. I guess a filter pocket could allow you to use own mid layer too.
1) Fit- quite close to face and covers mouth and nose, when you open your mouth your nose doesn’t poke out (!!!), breath goes through not around mask. Ear loops - not too thick, or short- are easier than ties for many. Adjustable is good. Tailored to fit across nose or wire.
What to look for in a cloth mask:
I’ll start by saying the WHO technical guidance (using textile science) and some publications are a start, but if we’re going to do this in a smart way and learn about it this advice could/ should change:
A) not anti mask but cautious given caliber of data- promask but REALLY pro
#distancehandwashmask
C) proper masks used properly please: why does no one talk about the fact that efficacy of cloth filtration may vary from 3-60% ??
