WIN: A judge dismissed a far-right lawsuit seeking access to Georgia’s election night reporting hub, which aggregates and publishes county vote totals.
Voting rights advocates warned that granting access could open the door to partisan interference and undermine confidence in elections.
RIP to 16 y/o Taylor Hamilton, she was shot and killed while waiting for an Uber on Thanksgiving night. Just weeks before, her boyfriend was shot and killed by his stepdad in Atlanta after he was mistaken as an intruder.
She was being heckled about her bf's death by a group that family says included a teen boy who shot and killed her on Thanksgiving night.

@JDVance Sir, what is this comment? Please don’t stain this good event with snark. Show respect for the people who suffered so much and get to go home to their families now.
It’s infuriating how politicians have allowed gun violence to escalate rather than have real conversations about legislation that might actually pass and make our country safer.
Regulate guns the way we do cars and drivers. Safety through licensing.

@uTobian@nytopinion Also, and I’m asking this genuinely not sarcastically, but are you just opposed to her name as the byline, or did you review the data the piece presents on said studies going back to the 1970s?
Train wrecks like this—that never should have been greenlit, let alone published—are why so many Americans distrust the science community & instead believe claims that *feel* good

@uTobian@nytopinion Also, just stating something is a “fact” does not make it so (and I include myself as part of that). The “receipts” link you’ve shared simply provides transparency about orgs Dr. Steiner has worked with. Love to see transparency! But what does it prove, per se?
@uTobian@nytopinion Great, call her out! Doesn’t make the autism-vaccine connection good science just because it’s getting called out in an Opinion piece
California has walked the walk on independent redistricting at the state level for 15 years.
But we cannot unilaterally disarm while other states throw out the rules to gain power.
With one vote, Californians can punch back and also demand nationwide independent redistricting.
