@Lafisrap@herokustatus any chance one of them uses Heroku Connect and the other one doesn't? Not any clear patterns out there yet about what is happening...
@jasonfried I think LMSs fall into this category as well. They all start to triangulate on the same set of features and are costly as hell to run as most operate on a per “active learner” model. So as we grow we just keeping paying more linearly
@johncutlefish I think the hard part about this, and why it’s tough to really be that differentiator, is the delta between buyer and user in B2B. It’s impossible for the buyer (some business or IT sponsor) to truly internalize how important good docs are. Not the case for the implementers/users
Every once in awhile you'll use a product that feels like magic. I just used @arcade_demo for the first time. Feels like magic.
It provides a whole different way to tell your product story. And allows users to feel the product without the required activation energy of signing up
It’s been awhile since I’ve used a product and thought to myself “holy shit, this is magic.” That just happened with @softr_io. The speed to launch a web app is absurd. As long as you know some basic UX and development patterns, you can go very far on your own.
@johncutlefish I think Salesforce has to be the obvious choice here for me. One reason I have seen this play out is purely for security and compliance reasons. “But if we add a new system then we have a do a full security review again.” “F that, let’s just use Service Cloud.”
@Jenyangwong A question I get from new PMs is “what prioritization method do you use?” They mean things like RICE, MOSCOW, Eisenhower, etc. I dont use any of those. Perhaps in my subconscious I am doing prioritization like this - maybe that’s product sense. Does anyone use these explicitly?
@macomber@sambhigham That’s fair. And also the wording could imply that one is somehow engineering’s “fault” which is clearly not the intent. But the idea that some decisions you pay interest on over time, and some decisions pay you dividends over time is where I’m going. Would love other ideas.
@mijustin the change management mindset from @Prosci, specifically ADKAR, has made me a better PM. Every individual on every change, experiences Awareness, Desire, Knowledge, Ability and Reinforcement. Most UX and product iteration is meant to reduce K,A barriers and skips the AD hurdle.
@johncutlefish This is where voice of the customer thinking goes wrong. “We know what customers want from the support box.” Or “our sales team gets requests all the time.” At best those are weak signals, at worst complete noise. Customers talk in “supply” language. Discovery finds “demand.”
