@ChrisGiles_ The real issue about public sector pensions is the high employer contribution rate but the other way of looking at it is the low levels of private sector contributions. A real ticking time bomb for the future.
@ThatTimWalker The truth is the higher interest rates are killing the buy to let market. Rents have become unaffordable and landlords are selling off as they fear house prices will collapse and they can get good interest rates on money freed up.
@ThatTimWalker I think their going back to work thing is actually them deciding to manage their properties themselves rather than pay someone to do so.
@Samfr There are easier ways to make money so things like this get ignored. Rail unions can be difficult but not impossible. Managers have the right to manage. There should be meaningful consultation and less negotiation. Privatisation has been a waste of time.
It's kind of incredible that Barack Obama can be one of the best political speakers we've seen this century and still not be the best speaker in his own family.
