SO-ARM 102 goes open source in September.

- A parallel gripper, so the jaws stay parallel through the whole stroke instead of rolling the object as they close.
- PET-CF instead of PLA+, for a much stiffer frame.
- A topology-optimized structure, which is where the lattice in the video comes from.
- Wider rotation and folding angles.
- STS 3250 servos.

Against SO-101 that adds up to 2.5x payload, roughly 2x positioning accuracy, roughly 1.6x movement speed, and about 36 mm more reach.

It runs on Hugging Face LeRobot, so datasets, policies and tutorials written for the platform work on it from day one. The pair in the video shows why that matters. You move the leader by hand, the follower copies, and what comes out is a recorded demonstration a policy can learn from.

Everything goes public in September.
