Is there an edutwitter community for Mat/Pat leave teachers returning to work? I don’t have many followers so hoping I can get one or two rts for some contacts. Thanks
Even the @GordonsScience Department is #beginningtolookalotlikechristmas! Their nativity scene is made entirely from equipment in their preparation room! Glass conical flasks, conduction equipment, an evaporating basin as a cradle and string around a funnel tap for the sheep.
I have just discovered https://t.co/m5NdO3GrWW. What an amazing (FREE!) resource! Can't wait to try the Car Race powerpoint with my year 7s! Thank you @goteachmaths
Just been shown this amazing game that challenges you to make various constructions with a compass and straight edge. https://t.co/ZKPfpqT1Nc . Cracking fun!
@GemmaHeald@DanielPearcy Agree with your comments entirely! Really liked the subject and liked the presentation style to give us a glimpse into their departmental meetings! Thanks @DanielPearcy
Just listened to @ChrisMcGrane84 at #MathsConf24 . Brilliant stuff! Really made me think about task design. See his website https://t.co/3k5guwSiFO or his book https://t.co/4RxR5unXUi
Thought i had a mini epiphany today when I did multiples of square numbers before simplifying surds. Seemed to make the process less cognitively demanding 🧠 #mathschat
@lewis_goodall@Cambridge_Uni We have a student like this. One of the best students we have ever had, denied by one grade because of the @ofqual algorithm. He was on course to be our first ever student to go to @Cambridge_Uni (school established 1963). We will appeal, but the injustice is hard to take.
@CharlotteOrpe I changed careers from law having not done any maths since A-level... I did an SKE before my pgce. I have been teaching maths for 5 years including A-level so it is possible! I highly recommend the AMSP CPD. They cover the whole curriculum including further Maths.
