Cancer Research Day—our signature research event—marked a record year, with 194 abstract submissions bringing together researchers from across Indiana to share work advancing cancer research.
Our trainee Emily White and the cancer center’s Steven P. Angus, PhD, D. Wade Clapp, MD, Steven Rhodes, PhD, and colleagues share their latest findings in Science Advances. Learn more: https://t.co/tl6pJ7yHma. #ResearchCuresCancer#NCIcomprehensive@ScienceAdvances
Targeted therapies could help reduce long-term side effects for kids with cancer. Karen Pollok, PhD, and her lab at @IUCancerCenter are studying BET inhibitors for osteosarcoma and creating tumor models to better understand pediatric solid tumors: https://t.co/Mo5uI17qIp.
The cancer center’s Bryan P. Schneider, MD, was among the researchers to publish a new article in Nature Communications. Learn more: https://t.co/dZqP9O7JdX. #ResearchCuresCancer#NCIcomprehensive@NatureComms
RFK Jr. went on national TV and spouted egregious, dangerous falsehoods about vaccines. As a parent and infectious diseases doctor, I couldn't stay silent. @FoxNews might not fact-check him, but I will. I've reviewed the trials. I've catalogued them. I have receipts. 🧵
The cancer center’s Y. Alan Wang, PhD, Kenneth P. Nephew, PhD, Jia Shen, PhD, and colleagues contributed to an article published in JCI Inisight. Learn more: https://t.co/WgZv6zG5Bn. #ResearchCuresCancer#NCIcomprehensive@JCI_insight
A message from PanCAN's President & CEO, @JulieFleshman, JD, MBA:
Today, the Trump administration released its FY26 budget, proposing a $17.5 billion or 37% cut to the National Institutes of Health, which includes the National Cancer Institute.
At a time when pancreatic cancer is at a pivotal point for research and treatment breakthroughs, these cuts halt researchers’ work and, more importantly, progress for patients and families.
Read my letter to Congress demanding that cancer research be protected and increased – because patients can’t afford to wait: https://t.co/cq49bm7734
Thank you for being part of this powerful community. Together, we will demand more, do more, deliver more, for every individual touched by this disease today and all those who will face it tomorrow.
At yesterday's opening ceremony, we asked the cancer community to stand together to make their voices heard in support of innovative cancer science and medicine. #CancerResearchSavesLives® #AACR25
I can't get over these 3D spatial images in the latest preprint from @sorger_peter@ajitjohnson_n et al.
The preprint is a roadmap on how to conduct 3D cyclic immunofluorescence using "thick" archival sections and precisely map cell-cell interactions

.@mcuban More recent data shows NIH-funded research contributed to 354 of 356 drugs (99.4%) approved from 2010–2019. Public funding is indispensable to the health and betterment of the American people—we must do a better job communicating this.
Sad to learn that the #PancreaticCancer research program (PCARP) will receive no funds in the current FY. 😢
I served as program review chair for 3y & we really tried to fund areas that are of pivotal importance to patients (like cancer cachexia research) but underfunded at NCI.
So proud to be this amazing person’s partner in life 🥹@DebVendramini gives an amazing opening speech at Stand up for Science Michigan. We will never back down to these traitors. We will not allow our children and loved ones to be hurt. It’s up to us regular citizens. Wake up USA
One of the challenging emotions we experience is after the loss of a loved one. Mason was a tremendous athlete that had a larger-than-life personality. He would light up any room he was in. We love and miss you! Our thoughts and prayers are with Mason's family.
Today, the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) signed on to a statement from One Voice Against Cancer (OVAC), a collaboration of national non-profit organizations representing millions of Americans, delivering a unified message to Congress and the White House on the need for increased cancer-related appropriations. The statement unites the cancer community in opposing recent executive actions and calling on both the Administration and members of Congress to work together to ensure that we continue to advance progress against pancreatic cancer and all other cancers.
The AACR is deeply concerned that the Administration’s recent actions are threatening NIH and its mission to accelerate progress for patients with cancer and other diseases that afflict millions of Americans. We urge Congress to restore stability to NIH: https://t.co/lK1chJyh1j
