@DavidAstinWalsh My mother is from Minnesota. In 1988 she preferred Bush but voted for Dukakis knowing he was going to lose. She wanted to help bump up Dukasis’ numbers so he wouldn’t feel too bad.
@SvenTystnad I think Vermont is very strong too. A lot of these are classics. Gotta love any state highway sign that makes sure you know which state you are in
@ChuckThies@FeverPotomac@repoyedc Guy is such a phony I bet he doesn’t even believe this. Transparently ambitious guy who’ll say whatever he thinks audience wants to hear.
@sylphide47@JeremyTate41 He has a PhD in history and has spoken extensively on evolution of American education so I trust him but I agree this would be an important area part of history to be expanded upon. The Blaine amendments at least are well documented
@nkrosse@HowardMortman@cspanradio He enters to the song “Loudly, let the trumpets bray” as a chorus of judges sings “Bow, bow, ye lower middle classes!
Bow, bow, ye tradesmen, bow, ye masses!”
@oucmecalling311 No matter the level of bike infrastructure, there is always an important role for personal sense of safety and comfort level. It is very dependent on commuting patterns and area. There are some streets I will NEVER ride on.
@DudespostingWs My dad saw this same thing at the same place in the early 1950s and decided he wanted to join the Coast Guard. When the time came, he was living in SoDakota and went into the local Navy recruiter to ask to where the nearest Coast Guard recruiter was. The navy snatched him up.
