One month ago I defended my PhD thesis entitled « Discovery and characterization of tumor specific transposable elements as novel potential biomarkers » ! Really grateful for everyone at @institut_curie and @ImmunCancer_IC for the support all these years !
Not easy to describe the emotions of seeing our work published in @CellCellPress ! We explored how novel isoforms emerge during evolution through the exonization of Transposable Elements. Exonized TEs modify the functions and structures of host proteins.

I am happy to share the terrific work of Elisa Bonnin and our team! CD74 supports accumulation and function of regulatory T cells in tumors | Nature Communications https://t.co/d3gfYBX14o
Lucibello, Lalanne, Le Gac, Lantz et al. @institut_curie show that the poor prognosis of M3 uveal #melanomas generates a local adaptive immune response, while the better prognosis of SF3B1-mutated uveal melanomas induces a systemic immune response https://t.co/K1o4JGNzTv
Particularly, I would like to extend my gratitude to Christel Goudot and Sebastian Amigorena for their invaluable help and leadership throughout this project and during all my #PhD.
Really happy to share my PhD work recently published in @SciImmunology in which we study the impact of T cell exhaustion on transposable elements (TEs) and explore their potential as biomarkers in #cancer and #immunotherapy

This work would not have been possible without the exceptional contributions of many individuals, including the remarkable work of @mt_christin , @C_Alanio, @MarianneBurbage, @YagoArribas and many more as well as the great support of @ImmunCancer_IC and @institut_curie.
A new study by @institut_curie scientists shows expression of transposable elements is repressed in exhausted #Tcells and could be applicable to biomarkers for response to #CheckpointInhibitor therapy.

Many thanks to Sebastian Amigorena and Christel Goudot ! Doing my PhD under your supervision was such a great experience as I could learn a lot and grow as a scientist. Also many thanks to the Amigorena team as this PhD wouldn’t have been the same without you.
