@ChuckRossDC the lack of granularity in the penalties for infractions is really the achilles' heel of the game, i think. too many nonsensical outcomes like this
@99percentchance@TonerousHyus He would crush her in any kind of fair debate. How many fair debates do you think will be held? We may not even get any debates if she thinks that gives her a path. The media will simply handwave this away
@DiabolicalDuck8@PaulTenorio If you are trying to deceive an official by exaggerating/ simulating, you should be punished. Minimal contact doesn’t make it okay
@mangtheram@PaulTenorio Officials can just give simulation cards without VAR. Every time they signal play on and make the diving hand motion, they are saying “yeah you simulated and I didn’t fall for it”. Those should be yellow cards
@mangtheram@PaulTenorio I didn’t say it was the wrong call. I was pointing out why it feels unjust to people. The actual wrong call is the utter refusal to call it whenever it happens, which is all the time
@mangtheram@PaulTenorio Why? The reason it seems harsh is that it is basically never given. If it was given every time it happened, nobody would be surprised
@ReallyDanWeiner What pressure? Yes, they're expected to win, but if USWNT went out early, it would barely be a story. The level of emotional investment by the public is not comparable.
