Cheap talk isn't cheap.
🚨 In our new paper "Large Language Models can Predict Human Strategic Decisions" (with Pedro Gonzalez-Fernandez @pedrofide and Helena Normann), we show LLMs can predict human strategic choices from chat transcripts, beating incentivized human forecasters in classic games and with accuracy well above chance.

🚨🚨 New paper alert🚨🚨
Ever wanted to elicit full belief distributions in surveys?
With @tgkmeissner and Pedro G-F we introduce a new method to do so + compare it to the current way of eliciting inflation expectations (ahem, @ecb@federalreserve)

Y he venido aquí a dejarlo por escrito.
@Vusiiiii @TheCFCBlueNews @FabrizioRomano Friendly reminder that Real Madrid beat Manchester United 3 months ago with a bicycle-kick goal from Joselu :)
(sigo)
@CatholicEllis @Irunnia_@PicturesFoIder@Chisomnwagbaraa If your prior belief is something else. Then the answer may not be any of the options.
Case 2: You see the choice set and their values simultaneously. Then, the answer to the question cannot be 25 nor 50 because the actual probability is not in the choice set. So it's 0%
@CatholicEllis @Irunnia_@PicturesFoIder@Chisomnwagbaraa It depends on how the choice set is presented to you.
Case 1: You only see that the choice set consists of 4 options. The values of the options are only revealed to you after answering the question. Then if your prior belief is all answers must be different, 25% is correct
